Umm, actually I started off watching 'good' anime, fell away from anime, watched DBZ, and got back into 'good' anime again. And guess what? I still like DBZ. I just don't think it's the best series in existence. In fact, I know it's not.

Glenn the Frog wrote:Can we all agree that DBZ isn't a good anime? I mean nobody in the world except for kids fifth grade and below can honestly believe that DBZ has something resembling a plot.

Honestly, no, we can't all agree. I believe DBZ has a plot, just that it gets lost at points during the series (because they indeed stretched it out *far* too long). Is the plot complex? As much as you want to make it. Some people see great depths of emotion and struggle in DBZ, some people see pointless fighting. What you're doing is minimizing the series into its basest form, which can be done with anything.
People constantly make the things they don't like seem simple, and make the things they do like seem more sophisticated. I think it's rather sad that people can't just give credit where credit is due. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying DBZ is great, I'm just saying that DBZ does not automatically=stupidity, lack of depth, retardation, etc.

DBZ fanboys on the other hand, well that's a different story...
Everyone is not the same as you.

i have to agree with most about the whole linkin ball z stuff and the dbz anime does lose its plot a lot but i think you'lll find that if you read the dbz graphic novels the plot is a lot better and is not stretched out at all, a fight that last say 10 - 20 tv episodes may only last a page or two in the comics.
I think the reason for all the dragon ball z videos is because many newbies at amvs are also new to anime and like it was pointed out before havent really seen any good anime just dragon ball z (or maybe pokemon *vomit vomit*).
So if anyone out there is thinkin of making a dbz amv especially to linkin park go get yourself some decent anime, eg. princess mononoke, akira, ghost in the shell etc.

Because there's not alot of videos done to these anime movies either eh?

You know what really needs to stop? All these stupid you like DBZ you don't like DBZ threads. Does anyone really care if someone likes it or not? I mean really now. Who cares? Anyone? ......... Anyone?

Nobody's an idiot for watching and liking DBZ provided they are watching it in japanese (let's face it, no one in their right mind will say english DBZ is good).

I do, don't care if you think I'm a retard or not :)
It's not my favorite anime or anything, but I think it's a neat little show. (Well, maybe not little). The Linkin Ball Z vids are old hat though... a good rule of making AMV's is to use animes that are rarely used, and songs that are never (or almost never) used. As I'm sure everyone here knows =p.

There's nothing wrong with DBZ, other than the fact that AMVs of it have been done, to death. Especially with LP songs. 8)

I actually like the dub of DBZ, for one. But I only like the first 53 eps dubbed that we get in the US. I don't like the rest of the eps, as they are dubbed by FUNimation here in the US. I'm pretty sure you guys up in Canada, and the guys in Britain get the Saban liscensed episodes, which are dubbed by Ocean Group Dubbing (Ocean Group's main office is in Toranto, I think.), which the Saban liscensed/Ocean dubbed episodes are the first 53 eps down here, the rest are by funi. I prefer the Japanese track over FUNimation's dub, but I like the first 53 eps of the dub better than the Japanese track.

Anything involving DBZ probably sucks, regardless of whether or not Linkin Park is involved.

I've only seen one LBZ video, and it sucked such big hairy ones that I almost vomited.

Anyway, I think about 70% of the videos I've seen have been complete wastes of my time.

3% I have no idea where I got that number. Either way, from what I've seen I'd say a good 15%, but I;ve only seen a small sample of AMVs from the huge pool that's out there so my statistic is by no means a definitive sample to run a conclusion off of.

What percentage of AMVs are crap?

Hmm let's see, if I carry the Linkin Park, and multiply by the number of DBZ and recent Cowboy Bebop music videos then divide by the number of AMV.....
