Anime Mid-Atlantic Music Video Contest winners
First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who submitted video's to AMA. You made for a good little contest for our out of the way convention.
Secondly: there have been a couple complaints as to the actual video quality of the contest. for this, I take full responsibility. We should have set the entry deadline at least another week earlier. Had we had that much more time, we would have been able to master the video's much better.
Also, the reason we showed the vids on VHS was because of the time crunch. First thing we did when we got the vids in order was record them to VHS as a backup. Turns out a varying combonation of factors kept us from having the entries on a totally digtal format.
But that's enough of my bowing and scraping, on to the winners^_^
Drama/Romance:
1st: "My Sweetness" by Hitori Studios
2nd: "AM to PM" by Tyrone Cleveland
Honorable Mention: "Like a Stone" by John Scott
Comedy/Action:
1st: "Mokushi Desu Ne (Boku Genki Desyo)" by Tom Guttadauro
2nd: "Chic 'n Stu" by Steve Edgell
Honorable Mention: "Scum of the Earth: Come On!" by Yogurtron
Again, thank you everyone for submitting, the winners should have their prizes in the mail by now, and looking forward to next year^_^

I am glad that yours won!
Out of all that were submitted I had hoped that yours would win! There were several that I wanted to disqualify straight out and I know that their are people who are unhappy with how their AMV looked. But those who bothered to read the instructions actually had a very nicely presented video. If you have any questions about how your video was presented (why did it look/sound like that?) please e-mail me at sith-lord@visi.net and I'll do my best to tell you why. However you may not like the answers that I give you.... Just to warn you ahead of time. You can also e-mail me if you have questions on why this/that was done as well and I'll answer to the best of my abilities. Just to forgo a few questions...
All VHS entries were digitally captured using a DV 500 at 720 X 480 @29.97fps and compiled from the capture file to MPEG2. The average size of the captures were around 2~3Gigs. The VCR I used was a JVC Pro-Deck that I had cleaned before I started.
Please no flaming to my e-mail address.

It was a vid I haven't sent to any cons before (Sweet Empathy).
Actually, I've been wondering when you'd finally send that to a con. I think it JUST might be your best video IMO...I have a tough time deciding between that and another one
BTW that was a QUICK reply. I bet you will reply really quick again
