Mac or PC . . . what's the difference?

Nah man, his computer just fucks up for no reason...

Trust ME.

Computers I had working fine, he'll start using it and boom....starts acting funny..

and he's not stupid either so... hmmm...

Just out of the blue Win2k will go funky and he'll have to re-install something or other....

I don't know, he's been sorta wussy about computers after he blew up a 386 motherboard a LONG TIME AGO... get over it damnit....

Say what you will but the original post in this thread asked for reasons behind using the Mac. I, being a Mac user, listed the positive reasons. I never like to fight PC vs Mac because it does all come down to the user. I work for an Apple Specialist and deal with both life long Mac fans and PC users thinking about switching platforms. For most of the switchers they move over and love it. I will point out that they came in thinking about the Mac so I by no means think the world would be a "happier place" if everyone switched. For some of those switchers I turn them away from the Mac. Why? Because the platform will not do what they want to do as well as the PC (and those people are mostly people who only want a computer for games). You should use what you like to use, I was merely answering a question asked about why I and many others like to use the Mac.

I found both articles through MacNN. It is all BS, but the articles are real. I really like this quote from the second article:

"And if those converts find they don't like the Mac OS after all, they could always use their Intel-equipped Macs to run Windows XP. Maybe Apple will even offer to replace Mac OS with Windows as a satisfaction guarantee. I can already see the slogan: 'Macintosh: Satisfaction guaranteed or double your Windows back!'"

Yeah that makes no sense because a Mac is defined by both the hardware and the software..

If it's a x86 64bit proc and you're running Mac OS, that's a PC w/ MAC OS X on it. Not a x86 Macintosh

. The OS does not make the computer, just like how people who run Loonix, we don't go around saying they have a Loonix computer now do we?
