Yes.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

Code: Select all
trythil@lothlann media $ transcode -i example.mov -o example.avi -z -k -w 3000,750,100 -x mov,mp3 -y divx5,toolame

If I can do it, so can you.

-z: flip video frame upside down
-k: swap red/blue in video frame
-w: bitrate, keyframes, crispness encoder parameters
-x: video/audio input type (or autodetect)
-y: video/audio output type

Any sort of transcoder utility can do this kind of conversion. VirtualDub would be a good bet, assuming that you have a DirectShow filter for Quicktime files (if they even exist, I don't know.)

Of course, this assumes that the codec used in the Quicktime file you're using is readable by your filter. If the compressor is something like Sorenson Vision, you're SOL, unless you're willing to output the Quicktime file through video out, capture that, and convert.

See see..

I would think loonix users would go like this

-f is for flip

-b is for bitrate...

There's the problem with loonix right there... Too many freakin options!!!

Your damn OS is to powerly userly!

3 ways to easily do that

1. www.doom9.org has a MOV2AVI.exe tutility... works sometimes
2. buy quicktime pro... it allows you to save a MOV as an AVI
3. use adobe premire to export the file
Lead me not to temptation, for I have deadlines

Actually, -f controls output video framerate, and -b controls the audio encoder bitrate. :)

We won't go into what -F and -B do. :P

Quu - I would see, if premier would import the stupid video. I'm not that basic. :-p

I'll check the doom9 site for that mov2avi file though. I just want the damn sound. BUY quicktime? ick.

if all you need is the audio then just follow my audio guide.

It tells you how to record any audio that you can hear in windows - you set it up, play the mov file and TADA! trailer wav.

erm, again, i'm not THAT dense. If I could have done it with Vdub or premier or tmpeg, I would have done so already, unfortunately, you're guide doesn't cover ANYTHING on mov files... and vdub, at least the version I have, doesn't like them.

Yeah, it helps if you read :P

"Getting Audio from Video Files

This can either be really easy or slightly tricky depending on what your source file is.

Hence, the guide will have the following sections.

1) Getting audio from AVI and mpeg1 video files using Virtualdub
2) Using mpeg2 audio from mpeg2 video files using dvd2avi.
3) Getting audio from locked video codecs such as RealMovie"

Number 3 is the method that applies to you, as you guessed ^_^
