upload filter

Postby ZeWrestler » Sat Apr 19, 2003 9:23 am

hey,

I just had a thought. How about creating a filter that will refuse to allow people to upload vids unless the enter all the information on the video. Especially, sorce info and song info.

Hey,

It's already implemented, but only after some fell through. In order to upload, a video must have anime, music, and a premiere date in the past.

Could we add that if they have DBZ and linken park together, they also can't upload?

Or no .Wmv files?

I have seen a lot of people who have like 40 videos (all wmv) upload lately. I never download wmv files, most don't, and it takes up space on the hds. Perhaps if we fill it up, they can be the first to go? (in the Golden Dounut, it won't be much of a problem, cause we will have the space, and very few will download them anyways, so it won't hurt bandwith too much)

Stopping wmv would mean that people who use windows movie maker would never be able to submit a video. That sucks.

Is the only way you can export in that program is to wmv?

Oh, and if it is...

If it's Dragon Ball, linken park, AND a wmv, maybe then we can filiter them out???

I mean, what are the chances of a dbz/linken park videos done in windows media player being worth anything? (let alone any other program)

Indeed it would. I would have to filter out pretty much all my early vids and I kind of like those. :|

Actualy some of your work is the only stuff in wmv I have seen that worth anything.

I do fillter them out myself, I was just worrying about server space.

I'm not going to upload all of my videos right now because of the storge space problems. I was also kiding. (some what ^_^)

Anyway, sorry to cause trouble. ^_^

Well yes but using Windows Media Player 9 I open it and goto "Save media as" and save it as .avi since that works

besides, wmv9 really isnt that bad. Okay, it's quite good actually. On par with divx 5 and Xvid I'd say, but rv9 still owns it ;p

Use mplayer! It runs on Mac OS X and almost any other UNIX out there!

There is no excuse for saying "I can't play [file format]" anymore when there's one player out there that will play any modern format...
