looking for a Haunting song

Postby Krypton-Knight » Thu Apr 10, 2003 8:38 pm

Throw em at me, the best of the best haunting songs you have. I mean haunting in a soft way, not haunting in a ultra freaky metal song way. Don't get me wrong those are fine but I need something elagant I suppose. All help appreciated!

Ah cool thanks. I checking out the listed ones, oh but if anyone still has suggestions feel free. The song doesn't have to be creepy, actually I prefer it not to be. I leaning towards female vocals, with a chorus type of sounds I suppose.

I think I'd suggest "The Eldar" by Blind Guardian and "One Final Graven Kiss" by Cradle of Filth because nothing is more melancholy and sweetly haunting than piano...

And for female vocals... check out "Illusion" by Trail of Tears. Beautiful.

Hocico - Cuando la Maldad Despierta (interesting industrial instrumental)
Collide - Violet's Dance (somewhat dancy, but a very emotion inducing song)
Switchblade Symphony - Dollhouse (seems to fit what you're looking for pretty well)
I'm out...

Enigma. There are a ton of Enigma videos already out there but it's worth a shot...

Might also find something haunting over in trip-hop (is that the right word?), in the Massive Attack area of the spectrum. I'll throw Lamb's "One" out for a suggestion... *shrugs* :)

Molasses - Amazing Grace
Low - (That's How You Play) Amazing Grace

Though the Molasses song is over 20 minutes long if you're looking for video fodder.

Haunting, not freaky...

BTW, nobody's said Massive Attack - "Teardrop". Another recommend. :)
