Arrr! Play me pirate music!

Seriously, why do so many insist on pirating music?

Mostly because its cheap though.

I usually download songs I like, but I never, EVER download an entire album. Just like how I never read an entire book in a bookstore (or I buy it if I do).

I love pirate music! The Jolly Rogers are the greatest! I especially love "The Clean Song" and "Isn't It Grand?".

Oh, wait, you mean something else...

Ah well, more shanties for me!

Damn. I thought this was a Running Wild thread.

Well, they rock, incase you had any doubts about the whole pirate-obsessed-power-metal-from-Germany bit.

Dude, I seriously came into this thread wondering if somebody wanted songs that would apply to pirates. You know, like all those "suggest a song" threads.

What the.

Uh, as for pirating music, word to Chaos Angel's post. That and I'll rip songs that I already own because I'm often too lazy to find a CD if I only feel like hearing one song off of it.

Shadow: +1 for the VeggieTales reference.

I still find it funny that VCDs of the movie were getting posted all over the place...you'd think their target audience would be against piracy =)

It's the "because it's there" argument. Some people will rip, download, and post just about anything for the sheer thrill of having stuff.

Case in point: A couple of my friends made a bet about how much software they could steal in a week. Whoever downloaded the most warez in theoretical retail price would win. In less than a week they both had over $10,000 (10K USD) worth of pirated programs. They never USED any of it, it was just to see who could get the most.

Some people make a life out of that, not a game. You can say "I have 1000 pirated movies" and get respect from other such people, without needing to mention that you have 1000 pirated movies that suck, and that nobody really wants anyways.

Hoorah for Relient K

Also, what prevents college students from watching VeggieTales? Aren't there people who get stoned and watch Tellitubies? (sp)
