New AMV on the Mac Guide Now Online

Post by Red Wolf » Fri Aug 02, 2002 3:03 pm

As some of you have known, I've been finishing up a guide to creating AMVs on the Mac. The guide includes everything from hardware and software requirments, importing footage, editing, and exporting your footage for online viewing and con submission. This is a new guide so all comments and suggestions are welcome.

Excellent stuff!!!

I've only browsed it, as I'm not much help in criticising it as I dont use Macs, but it looks really thorough.

You know, we should get onto Phade about getting all the new guides hosted. My audio guide has been waiting for org hosting for months now.

Anyway, well done!

Wow, a positive comment from a PC user.

*faints*

Oh, and thanks for reminding me to email Phade about it :D

Wow. I wonder if anybody would find an AMVing-on-UNIX guide useful. :P

trythil - you are the first person on the org that I can even remember mentioning using 'nix for editing. So unless you want to write a guide for yourself as an aide memoire :P

Hey, great walkthrough. Though, the first iTunes graphic is broken and I couldn't get the link for OSEx or MacMPEG2Decoder to work properly.

This just might have convinced me to purchase a Mac...

Thanks for the feedback. That iTunes graphic is working now and the site I had linked to OSEx and MacMPEG2Decoder seems to be down. Since those two programs are the only two I list that don't have a set home at either Apple.com or VersionTracker.com I've uploaded the install files and now my site's links have you download those programs from my server.

Always good to hear another person is looking at the Mac. I work for an Apple Specialist so if you have any Mac questions, AMV related or other wise, before you go out and purchase just let me know.
