Offical "Lets Do Something At Anime Boston" Thread

...well? Yeah.

I'm thinking we should sign up for one of the Clubhouses (http://www.animeboston.com/events/clubhouse.html). Not only does it give us somewhere central to meet, but then we can distribute our CDs/DVDs/Whatever to people who show up. Maybe we can get a little TV or a laptop set up, so that we can show off creations we haven't entered in the competition.

I'll be willing to fill out the form if enough people are interested.

I'm up for this. A lot better than just wandering around and asking people if they want free CDs. Also gives creators a chance to annoy each other with jargon instead of plaguing other fans.

Now I just need to get my CD-release ready...

Sounds like a really good idea to me. Don't know how much time I'll be able to spend at it with working at the con, but it would definitely be nice to have a place to meet up with the other AMVers and give out CDs. Gah! I need to order more Chibi CD-Rs!

Clubhouse? Sure, as long as you'll let me come in and be a leech. Not really-- I do have, like, one AMV in progress to hand out, and I'll fill the rest of my CD up with fansubs.

Anyway, who's going to fill out the Clubhouse signup form?

Yeah, go for it. I was considering this once I saw the clubhouse idea myself, but I figured someone more qualified than me would do it.

Otherwise we can all head over to Whiskey Park and drink with the tres chic. Either way is fine with me.

It's actually already done- dokool took care of the clubhouse form. I don't think we've heard when our time-slot is going to be yet, though.

anyone else look at the event schedule? There is an amazing lack of AMV time listed . From what i read , only friday night for an hour or so. NOthing for saturday!? I hope they change this before the event starts.
AMV viewings are one of the big reasons that I go to cons.

AMVs at Anime Boston

Postby PatrickD » Sat Mar 22, 2003 12:45 pm

There will be an AMV screening on Saturday from 11am until 1pm in one of the video rooms. We had to move it out of Main Events because we needed more time in there for other stuff. ...and there are two AMV panels as well. Times TBA.

If you do a search on this site for videos participating at Anime Boston, quite a few of those were never submitted. It's frustrating. I wish I could do something about that.

Postby Freako » Sat Mar 22, 2003 5:19 pm

you can do something about it .... make a "procrastination deadline" until this friday ... that might get some late entries off thier asses .( me included)

clubhouse suggestions......

Postby Kai Stromler » Tue Apr 01, 2003 1:01 pm

Don't know how others might feel about this, but perhaps we could:

* have a printed copy of the AMV DC catalog on hand for people to flip through

* tape up a Dunkin' Donuts box (thoroughly cleaned) to collect Golden Donut donations/tips from passers-by, then have someone write a check to Phade for the proceeds

Just ideas, probably equally good for any con out there with an AMV room.

I like the Donut collect box... though I'd prefer we get a Krispy Kreme donut box. Especially if we're going to eat the donuts that were in it beforehand.... :D

hehe...true...

just thinking that a Dunkins box would require less scribbling to turn into a Golden Donut collection bin.
