SVCD w/ 2 audio streams

Postby VegettoEX » Fri Aug 02, 2002 2:33 pm

I'm toying around with the idea of doing some commentary tracks for a few videos on an SVCD. I've made SVCDs with no problems before, but of course, this is by making a standard MPEG2 with TMPG's NTSC SVCD template.

There's only one selection window for an audio source.

I want two audio tracks.

I'm a little familiar with VCDEasy, as this is what I've been using to make VCDs and SVCDs. Granted, I don't have a copy of it in front of me as I'm typing this, so I'm not sure if my question is easily answered in there...

Recording the second audio track, I assume, is no problem, and is just a matter of me doing a traditional mic record. Synching it up with the video is no biggie that I can handle.

How, pray tell, do I set up an SVCD to have selectable audio tracks on it? I'm not ripping DVDs, so to speak, so I don't have the option of just using a program like DVD2SVCD and telling it which audio tracks I want.

I've got the AVI of the video I want to MPEG2 for SVCD, and I've (theoretically) recorded my second audio track which is synced up to the appropriate video track.

What's next?

I've looked over www.vcdhelp.com and www.doom9.org, and I'm just NOT seeing anything even remotely covering this.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Although I've never done it, I'm assuming that you have to use the Advanced Multiplex option in TMPG's mpeg tools to mux a second audio stream.

Other than that I'm not really sure.
