Time's Scar is an awesome song, love it, enjoy it, but realize that it was almost certainly written and performed on a modern synth.

I've played violin, keyboards(mostly synths), guitar, bass, sax, and clarinet, graduated from music school, and I'm pretty damn sure it was done on a synth. the fact that I'm not certain speaks volumes for the composer/performer, and make no mistake, I friggin LOVE teh chrono cross OST

Between phrases is the term you're looking for, I believe, and that can be sampled and added in too. I'm not 100% on this, and I may be wrong, that's not what's most important to me. The excellent melody, the sum of the beautiful composition, is the most important thing, and the music IS fantastically well written.

Meesa likes "Magical Dreamers" and all other songs on OST which use its melody, but then I like all of that OST and i am a punker/metalhead , so those have the honor of being my favorites on the OST. it may have been a synth, but if I recall correctly, it lists the violin players on the OST documentation...I may be mistaken I can't get to mine til sunday...(crying). Anyways, Hang loose, y'all! Kamelot rulez!!!!!!!!!!

I think that the music of Chrono Cross is some of the most beutiful music of all time, my 2 faves off that one are
voyage, another world
map theme for another world (on the main continent)
home guldove
and the demo music.
