I hope to get some expert help, but any will do
I've suddenly gotten into this genre of music and would like to know for a newbie in this area, what are the best band depending on style and taste, and feel of the music, i'm not sure where to start exploring and hope to get pointed in the right direction, and also where can i get songs, downloded or in albums, thanks for any help given

X-Japan is a great place to start.
They have a very epic style to their music, complex with powerhouse drumming, excellent guitar playing, and melodic string arrangements. The lead singer, Toshi, make take some time getting used to though. Once you get used to him though, you'll start to realize that he really is a great vocalist.
WinMX has lots of their stuff, so just type in 'X Japan' and you'll get lots of songs to choose from. For starters, I'd reccommend these:
Fast Songs:
Dahlia
Silent Jealousy
X
Kurenai
Orgasm
Art of Life (yes it's 29 minutes long, but it's more than worth the time)
Ballads:
Endless Rain
Forever Love
Say Anything
Tears
Crucify My Love
Hope this helps. You might also want to check out my latest video (using 'Drain' by X Japan) when it becomes available.

Hmmm...bands like Weezer or Green Day (both great, by the way ^o^ )?
You'd probably like a group called The Pillows. If you've seen FLCL (Fooly Cooli/Furi Kuri), they did all of the music for that series.
I'd check out these:
Blues Drive Monster
Little Busters
Ride On Shooting Star
Advice
Hybrid Rainbow
Funny Bunny
They're also a really great band, one of my favorites.
