FF Tactics Anime

Postby EarthCurrent » Tue Mar 18, 2003 6:23 pm

Okay, I am developing a new AMV based around Final Fantasy Tactics. However, I need ideas about anime characters that can represent the various classes in the game. Here are the classes I need ideas for, along with some of the characters I have thought of possibly using. In the tradition of FF Tactics, I need both a male and female character for each class, but I really want to avoid using characters from the same anime if possible--But this may not be possible.

Squire
Training day & night to become good fighter, they aren't to useful in the beginning. But remember, everything takes time.
Male: Parn (Record of Lodoss War)
Female: Hikaru (Magic Knight Rayearth)

Chemist
Attacks with a wide variety of various items. A very valuable party member, especially for backup.
Male: ???
Female: Kohran (Sakura Wars)

Knight
Physically and spiritually strong, they learn powerful new techniques by mastering sword skills!
Male: Allen Schezar (Escaflowne)
Female: Caska (Berzerk)

Archer
With super-human eyesight, they use bows against long-distance enemies.
Male: Ashitaka (Mononoke Hime)
Female: Ruriko (Gatekeepers)

Monk
Marital-art experts who have disciplined their minds and bodies for years. Their fists are more deadly than swords.
Male: Dan Hibiki (Street Fighter Alpha)
Female: Lady Meow (Tsukekage Ran)

White Mage
Best ar healing and aiding allies in battle. They fight to protect the weak and defeat the forces of darkness.
Male: Eto (Record of Lodoss War)
Female: ???

Black Mage
Create flame and thunder from their spirit, using thei powerful magic not to destroy but to protect allies.
Male: Orphen (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen)
Female: Nage the White Serpent (Slayers)

Time Mage
Uses Time Magic to control time and space. Extremely useful allies.
Male: ???
Female: ???

Summoner
Summon powerful monsters from the other side making them fight for them.
Male: ???
Female: Lena (Shamanic Princess)

Thief
With agile bodies and quick hands, they use various stealing techniques to confuse enemies.
Male: ???
Female: ???

Geomancer
All objects under heaven and earth are his weapon. Watch the topography and take full advantage of it.
Male: ???
Female: ???

Lancer
Immitating flying dragons, these knights created a unique way of fighting. Skilled with spears, jump attacks and defense.
Male: ???
Female: ???

Samurai
Expert swordsmen who train to master their fear. The "Katana" sword from the far east brings out his potential.
Male: Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin)
Female: Ryoko (Real Bout High School)

Ninja
Fighting enemies in darkness, they pursue their mission without fear of death. They can throw weapons!
Male: Jubei (Ninja Scroll) *I don't really want to use this though*
Female: Sakura (Naruto)

Wow...

Good luck, man.

If I think of anything, I'll be sure to tell you. I'd love to see this turn out well.

But no Dancer, Bard, or Mime?

Hmm... what about Pai from 3x3 Eyes for White Mage? It's a stretch, though. Heh, my first thought was Deedlit but you're already using two from Record of Lodoss War.

Well...they aren't introduced as classes in the game's intro video...so I don't want to use them.

White mage:

Female ... whatabout belldandy .. or any of the Ah! my goddess Girlies?
...the problem I see a lot is that many good amv makers think they suck, and many bad amv makers think they're good.
I've seen it happen, man! I've SEEN IT!..

Anyone think of characters stopping time in an anime?

Yeah I was thinking about that...

I figure you can just make it look like they stop time. With a little editing, it's not too tough. Use some dominatingly powerful character like Akira and show crazy editing stuff. But they also did stuff like Meteor. :? And Demi.

As far as editing goes, mask a person making some motion (like raising their arms) and place some action in the back ground. Then just slow the background.

I think there was something of the time sort in an episode or 2 of Yu-Gi-Oh, but it was a cartoony looking clock thing.

Yeah...but then someone watching it would say, "Hey, they don't have that power." Which could detract from their enjoyment of the video. As for the Meteo/Demi spells, Time Mages are best known for speeding up/slowing/stopping time, so I'd prefer a character that is known to demonstrate powers like that in some fashion.

And on other things-->

Not by any means. Especially if that person hadn't seen the anime. I'd love the hell out of seeing that.

As for the test...

Ehh... no? I'm more of a... monk.

I got dancer

"a beautiful and charming warrior. flirty; fascinating; uber sexy!" That's a pretty good class to be for an AMV editor isn't it? :)

How about Samurai Deeper Kyo for Chemist? The main characters is supposed to have lost his memory and became a chemist.

I was going to suggest Woodchuck for thief but it's up to you if you want to use Lupin instead.

Kiribayashi-sempai from Real Bout High School could work for female lancer, I think. (She uses a naginata which is sort of like a lance, it's a pole-arms thingy at least)

Amelia or maybe Filia from Slayers could work for female White Mage.

For a little humor make Ash the Male Summoner. Hey, pokemon are monsters after all! :)

Hope that helps some.
