Free idea: Akira is "down with the sickness"

Postby Wildfire2k2 » Sun Feb 23, 2003 5:13 pm

I was listening to the disturbed song "down with the sickness" on Y-100 when I thought of Akira. The lyrics would be perfect for the anime, but I don't have the footage, so I'm giving this one up to you guys and gals.

yeah...that sounds like fun. I will be getting the Akira DVD soon (currently broke) and I might do that. I was, though, already planning on doing Akira to Linking Park's High Voltage, yes I know it is Linkin Park, and its probably already done, but that lyraics are made for Akira. And I also did a Mega Man/Rockman AMV to Down With the Sickness...but my video sources were crap quality, so I ditched it...lol...sounds like fun

Out Peace

Just because the song has the word Akira in it, doesn't mean its for Akira. And hands off, thats my soup.

Go ahead...have fun with it. I don't care if people do the same AMV...You know, they say that stealing ones ideas is one of the greatest forms of a compliment. (I think thats how they say it, but I think we get the point)
But this just occured to me, what about the song that goes "She's so high, high above me. She's so lovely" I forget the name and the band, but it might work. And anyways, I'm making an FLCL AMV to that song.

Out Peace

If you are able to cut the anime the right way, it doesn't matter if the song fits the story or type or not, because you can mold the song, and/or the anime to fit each other.

We are doing our own Akira Project or we'd do this one. Plus that song just rocks.

About more than one person doing the same amv being stealing, that's bullshit. Music Vids are an art form, and just like programing, you can get the same out put (meaning same song using same series/movie) with different execution. Only difference is, in programing you look for reusiblity, in an AMV you look for style. Many different styles doing the same video shouldn't hurt none.

Problem I have is people don't do proper Music Video Layers (White Text usually with a Black outline):

Song
Artist
Record Company

Studio should be in there, your name can go where you insert studio. (If not various) You could also include the anime. This should before like the begining and ending of the AMV not in a bumper that can be removed and changed. Thus making it safer for people to do video with the same song / same anime as some one has done before.

But that was more of a rant than anything else. I apologize and digress from my positition. Do as you see fit.

I'm just saying that if i do it it will forever go down in the annals of time as a song that should never be touched again. Like Speed King, or whats it called.
