newbie headaches w/ premiere..dvd editing

Postby vincentpricemil » Mon Jul 29, 2002 1:17 pm

I'm probably gonna get a lot of "what a newbie" responses for this, but I'll ask anyway. I followed Ermac's guide to edit dvd footage in premiere, but after i got the asb file imported and I tried to adjust the preview window to 740 x 480, it wouldnt get any larger than 640 x 480.

It's probably just some setting I'm looking right over, but my brain is officially fried trying to figure it out  , and I need some outside help

Have you checked the Project & video settings?

The res should be set to 720x480.

Is the pixel aspect ratio set to 1.0, NOT 0.9?

This is the most common problem ever. If you search this forum you'll find this same answer many times.

Set the pixel aspect ratio of your clips AND your project to "Square Pixels" in order to be able to resize to 720x480.

Doah.

I must have checked that setting 10 times, and I could have sworn it was set up right. Please forgive my newbie ass :(
