Avatar catalogue?

Postby Lyrs » Wed Jan 29, 2003 1:16 pm

I reckon it's a good idea to have an avatar catalogue, at least with the current avatar on each member.

Hey,

If there was a catalog of eveyone's avatar, that would mean that anyone could use that avatar. Generally, avatars should be unique. You are welcome to upload any avatar that complies with the avatar size limits.

Avatars at PHPBB.com

If you're looking for one, that is a good place to go.

I don't know about php board but iconoboard allows you to use a system that after you select an avatar off of a catalogue you can click the button "my personal avatar" and it removes the avatar from the catalogue so no one else can use it. You might want to look into seeing if PHP board has this function, if not then I say stick with the current method, I like it this way.

Wired Knight idea is pretty good. And if the site does have an avatar catalogue, unused avatars can be picked by new members if they want one.

Also, if there's a catatlogue, you can also set up an avatar competition kinda like that with the banners.

And breifly, if there's a catalogue, you can see which anime characters are most used and the skies the limit for more ideas....

Fact is:

Tehre is a catalogue:

But it's not quite open.

Using the url file is a good idea to see all the pics.
