Use Member Titles for Production Studio Name

Postby Clara Yuri Asaki » Thu Jan 16, 2003 3:49 pm

I know you don't want to use the member titles for post count rankings. Neither do I. Actually, I wanted customs titles to describe ourselves....
(like "Shoujo-Ai Goddess" from my Bebop profile.)

ANYWAYS!!

Maybe the people who actually make AMVs should be able to get their production studio name for their title at least.

That's actually very possible with board systems. That one is up to Phade though since those have to be manually put into the system for each person.

So what do you think, Phade?

This isn't going to affect me of course, but I'm sure that all the AMV makers here will appreciate it. ^_^

Hey,

It has always been my policy that unless a "studio" has more than one member and they actually collaborate on videos, then you are just doing videos by yourself and you don't really have a "studio" (therefore you should just list the vids under your name). Of all the "studios" listed, there are only 29 that have more than one member. Until the true meaning of "studio" is upheld, they will be just another name for a single person.

Only 29?.....

Then allow only the members who are part of an actual studio to have that studio name under their name.

Hey,

Then people would create fake names so there appears to be more than one member so they can have thier name on the forum.

how about just the custom title handel, reguardless of studio. Also, is the idea of creating a method of callaborating videos so that more than one member can get credit for makin the video, rather than entering it under one profile, ie: Mission Improbale, sound like it would be really benificial to people on the site.

Maybe you could set up some kind rule like "To be a studio, you must have at least 5 members in it and all members must have submitted at least 1 AMV" or something like that.

That would suck for pretty much every real studio.

I think a better idea would be to have as follows:

Only let creators use the facility. If they want to create a studio as a funny catchline in the forum then it's going to look pretty dumb on their video profile.

As for the only one person is not a studio, I'd lke to disagree in a sense. Zettai Unmei Anime only has one amv creator (me) but it has other members that do fansubbing and translations etc. You get the idea.

I don't think it would be abused if it was a creator-only facility but equally I don't think it's a site necessity.

That's why I added the "or something like that".

I just meant create some rules that would prevent members from getting extra studio members with fake names and all.

that would not be fair at all ...... for example .... I do alot of different thing that I may consider art .. And I want to release them under 1 studio name. Why should I be denied the right to do this just because people are going around making fake accounts or names.

If i do no have the right to use a studio name that encompasses all of my projects then how is that fair to me?
