The 2024 Matsuricon V.E.S. AMV Contest is now in the books. Thank you to those that came out to support it if I missed you. The contest winners are now available by scrolling to the end of the thread. I'll personally be reaching out to the winners to let them know of next steps in the awards & prizes process. And of course reach out to me if you have any further questions or concerns.

Contest Schedule

The 2024 Matsuricon V.E.S. AMV Contest will be screened starting at 3:45 PM on Saturday, August the 31st in the Main 2 room in the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

The Awards Ceremony will take place starting at 2 PM on Sunday, September 1st in Panel Room 4.

For those that are unable to attend I'll post the winners at the end of this thread.

Registration is now closed.

Thank you to everyone that has submitted to the Matsuricon 2024 V.E.S. AMV Contest. If you have registered a video but have not received a response, please bare with us as we continue to sort and screen out the registered videos.

Otherwise, we'll announce the contest set list, shooting for no later then the 18th of August, 2024. If anyone has any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me at amv@matsuricon.org.

Matsuricon 2024 V.E.S. AMV Contest Announcement

Hello Everyone,

The Matsuricon V.E.S. AMV Contest is back for it's 7th season in action. We'll be showing AMVs (and other fan made videos) on August 30th - September 1st, 2024 at Matsuricon 2024 in Columbus, OH, USA. If your an editor, we're currently accepting your registrations. Deadline this year will be the E.O.D. July 31st, 2024

Full list of rules as well as our registration form is below. But here's a few things of note for you.

We still have the 6 Categories you can choose from:

• Action

• Fun/Comedy

• Drama/Serious

• Romance/Sentimental

• Upbeat/Dance

• Trailer/Commercial

If you don't know what category you'd like to choose, you can choose HELP.

All footage types allowed
Attendance is not required to win
We'll be providing 8 total awards:

• 6 based on best in category

• 1 best in show

• 1 Audience (The Matsuricon audience) Choice

For everyone, we're getting some entries already but as we have busy lives, it may be a week or two before I reach back to you with the results of the initial screening. But I promise I'll reach out once we've properly scrubbed your registered videos. And thank you for your patience in this regard.

Just a quick bump to let everyone know that our contest will close in a month as of this message. And as of this post, we're looking for videos in all of our categories, though if you have a comedy/fun video, we are really short on those.
