VOB files editing

Postby Wyverex » Wed Jul 24, 2002 7:14 pm

Can I just copy a DVD on my HD and edit the .vob files in Premiere? I've just tried but it says "can't open the file". Maybe with a frameserver prog?

Otherwise the only way I know to keep perfect quality is converting the DVD into HuffYUV. It's OK till you have to ripp End of Eva off which takes about 25GB in HuffYUV... Any other way? I tried ripping the DVD off in MPEG-2 but Premiere still can't open the file.

Yeah and they say HuffYUV is the only lossless codec.

I heard someone speaking about editing .vob files directly in Premiere and I thought this may be a way to avoid those 25GB files... Is it?

"[...] either editing the VOBs directly or converting them to a format which you can edit with more easily"

Yes... How? Does this make Premiere crashes even more often?

Heheh didn't see the "Page 2" link  ^_^.

Sorry about that. I've read all the guides before but english isn't my native language and it's quite hard for me to remember what I've read and where.

Simply, translate the guide online and print it out. This way you always have something to refer back to.

www.freetranslation.com is what I used to use for translation problems in French class. Hope it helps some. :)
