While the rest of us who would simply LIKE to be involved wit comunity projects like that are basically told we can't because we're not 'in'.
The first project was 100% open to ANYONE.
The second project is closed because it's an experiment in how we can actually organize everything so the project doesn't become a logistical nightmare (which it already is, in some ways).
The third project will probably open up a bit, based on what we've learned this year. But, as with many things, people that busted their asses for us in previous years will have priority.
I'm very sorry that you feel left out right now, while the second project is in its final stages of progress. There will be a great many people left out of the 3rd project simply because there aren't enough tracks to go around, and I'm sorry about that too. But you need to be realistic about this. This is a fucking TOUGH project to put together, and someone somewhere has to exert SOME sort of control over it in order for it to get done. You try organizing 30 procrastinating otaku from all over the world. Then invite anyone else who thinks it might be "neat" to be involved, and try to keep every single one of them on task and on schedule. Impossible.
And also, this isn't some "prestigious" thing, and it's not about "status." It was a bunch of people who brainstormed an idea, put it together, and somehow it became popular. It just happens to be the only mass AMV project around...so what's stopping people from making others?? This is just ONE project, not the be-all end-all of the AMV world. ErMaC's Ani-Para project is having trouble getting off the ground because of source issues, otherwise it's a sound idea that people could get involved with. If you have an idea for something on this scale, why not see what you can do to try to put it in motion?
I have no idea how to use this new forum.
