I've done that a couple times now... though it's easier when I can do it to an avatar, 'cause I don't have to cut/paste a screenshot into Photoshop.

Just read the FAQs and you should be fine. This, of course, isn't advisable to use if you access the internet with a standard dial-up modem.

FTP site, it's free. The only thing is that you have to set it all up yourself and you need to keep your computer on practically twenty-four seven. But it is free and allows unlimited space.

Go to www.download.com and search for the initials "FTP" on their site. They will bring up about twenty or so FTP programs that will allow you to create your own FTP server. Personally I recomend "Bullet FTP" it's the simpelest to use. I've used the system before so if you have anymore questions abot them feel free to ask.

Just in case you don't know: FTP is basically an access to files on your computer from the internet. The files themselves do not go on the internet and people will be downloading them directly off your hard drive. The FTP program will allow you to give them access to specific folders you choose and they require a password from the user if they care to download from them. The only dissadvantage is the fact that your computer needs to be on and it can slow down your internet speed while someone is downloading.

What I suggested was an actually HTTP hosting solution which will probably suite your needs better than any FTP hosting solution out there and I've found it is a fair bit easier to set up.
