A-Kon 25 VSE Contest- May 19 Deadline, Need More Submissions

Well I've got one submitted for you in the standard competition (the closest I've ever been to even getting in to an amv contest is the NDK overload so I figured I'd probably be a better fit there than in the masters category) So if I can get my next one done here on Sunday I may submit a second one before the deadline. Hope you guys get enough entries.

For the Standard rules the max submission length says 7 mins, is that for one video or both videos? (I'm really hoping one)

A-Kon will be my first convention, and having a deadline was a good way to force myself to release an AMV. I've never been able to pull the trigger and upload one, so this'll be my first.

Apologies for not responding to questions. Been struggling to finish a massive video project. I'll answer what I can.

Is attendance required to submit?

No. You don't have to be present to enter.

"List the first and last name of the person you would like to receive your award for you should you be unable to attend the awards ceremony. We will check a picture ID for all proxy recipients before allowing them to receive any award on your behalf."

Does this mean awards won't be mailed out to those not attending?

I'm pretty sure we will still make an effort to contact the winners and see about mailing their trophy if they are not in attendance, but I'll have to double check on that. Over the years it has become increasingly expensive to mail out trophies. I'll try to remember to mention updating our website once I know the answer.

It's for one video.

uhh... not sure if there are more rules... but figure i may as well ask.. id the contest strictly anime.. or can other animation sources be used as the primary content of the video E.G.: Avatar:TLA, Boondocks, MLP:FIM, CGI Movies, ect...

You can use other sources, not just Anime, as they will be part of our Showcase selections

I'd like to know as well - according to your website I won Runners up in Masters last year and never heard back about anything.

As an aside, I HAVE gotten 3 trophies from your con since 2006 and they're all the ultra-cheep tier stuff from Crown. The convention execs must really not give two shits about budgeting for you guys. I've spent at least ten times as much as what you guys do on trophies & shipping for a con with under 10% your attendance level. It sure seems like there's a profound lack of respect for your department.
