Does anyone play Magic the Gathering

So I was wondering if there are any editors out there that play Magic the Gathering? If so what do you think about the current standard format? Also if you go to conventions do you bring your decks with you? I'll probably have a couple at AWA when I come down if anyone wants to play.

As far as the current standard goes. It's okay. There's hasn't been much creativity from what I have seen at the tournaments. So I just play casually now. I'm just using fun cards and building some silly decks, and some serious ones.

What about you guys? Serious decks or silly decks?

I still play for the most part, I've not played standard in ages, (since Onslaught) but I think the new block is quite interesting, especially that Ajani that gives 100 life for -8.

I don't keep up with MTG really. I haven't bought a card since Urza block. I do still play with my friends though. We basically only play EDH, which is about the only format most of my cards are valid in still.

I do get gifts every so often of new cards from my friends who find some that would fit my deck themes. But yeah that's it.

I don't usually take my cards with me to cons, but if there were others who wanted to play some EDH with me at AWA I could bring my decks down. Give me a chance to show off my epic Rainbow Dash play mat.

I'll probably be building a commander deck soon. So I'll have it at AWA. Might be building a couple, just for the heck of it.

So do you guys have a creature that you really like in the game? One that was your favorite for any reason. My favorite creature would have to be Shivan Dragon. Just because he was the original dragon in the game and he won me a lot of games. Still in standard when they brought him back, eventhough out dated to most players, I still could find him useful with some help from the deck.

Most of my cards are as old as Nate's (though friends in college got me to buy in on a few drafts after that point). Trying to sell or otherwise unload my collection to focus on my current MLP CCG fixation.

There's no specific creature I'm really fond of. I do enjoy the Elf and Angel creature type however when it comes to theming my decks. I had an old elf deck I cannibalized for an EDH deck and I currently employ angels in my grey EDH deck.

Yes i do play have just start up a gen after a bark (one off many )
never play tournaments just vs friends
as for my strong deck i have to say my Scarecrow artifact deck (win i round 3 if lucky)

My decks are old as hell as well. I would bring 'em and play ya though I havent bought new stuff in ages.

I don't mind playing old stuff as long as its not infinity for artifacts. That was a stupid block. Hey I'll drop my hand and play it for free. Come on really?

I have an EDH deck now too for convention. Yeah silly stuff.

Naw I just had a fun white weenie and like a control/mill deck that barely works, but they're still fun to play, just so outdated now.
