AnimeNEXT 2014 AMV Contest -- Winners Posted!

Hi everyone! This post is to let you know that we are open for entries for the AnimeNEXT 2014 Animé Music Video (AMV) Contest. Being the largest independently-run anime convention in the New Jersey/New York metro area (over 10,000 attendees in 2013), AnimeNEXT is returning to the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ, for the weekend of June 6-8, 2014.

Contest Rules -- Entry Form (it's a nice shiny web form this year!)

Please be sure to read the rules in their entirety, as they have changed since 2013. For example, MPEG-2 is no longer the preferred file format.
Note that even if your video is not yet finished, you can still request FTP access by e-mailing amv@animenext.org .

Entries sent by post must be postmarked by APRIL 26 and received by APRIL 30. Entries sent via FTP must be completely received by the end of APRIL 26.

Here's some reasons to enter our contest:

• We will ship certificates and prizes to the winners if they cannot make it to the show -- but NOT in breakable glass frames this year!
• Medals for the winners this year -- see this post for sample photo!
• All valid entries received on time (unless disqualified) WILL be shown at the convention, even if they do not make finals.
• No maximum video length. Bring on the prog rock, classical, whatever!
• The categories are not set in advance. If we have enough good videos in a genre, there will be an award for it. So send us your horror, your trailers, your upbeat, etc.!

I just want to say something here since this contest is playing an important role in a future proyect:

-Thanks to the Last Con, I was able to find the remaining pieces to complete my proyect so you guys are being mentioned in that proyect, That I hope to bring to AnimeNEXT 2015
-I wish I could make an exclusive video for the Con, although I cant at the moment I will see if I can submit all the newest ones, including Prelude to Death III

All pending entry forms have been processed; please check your junk mail folders if you have not yet received FTP information. (I don't know why, but I got a huge flood of entry form notifications all at 9:30 this morning despite the forms actually having been sent over the past two days.)

I just submitted 2 AMVs. I entered last year and it was a fun experience! I decided to try something different with editing this year and I am excited to see the results! Even f I don't get in I am excited to see what amvs will be shown! Good luck to everyone!
