Hey guys, Jenna a.k.a SacredArrow18 here. Finally made a video for the year of 2014. I will be making a come back with more videos this year, yays! I won't promise anything though. I might not release one for 2 months or more, but I am going to try and bring you more videos this year. Anyways about the video, I will say it right now, the video quality isn't that great, I edited this music video on my macbook pro using the mp4 raw files I downloaded. So the quality isn't the best, but I did my best to keep the quality it had while lowering the file size down to 91MB instead of 134MB. I hope the quality doesn't turn any of you away, it is a great video. I really love it and I hope you all enjoy it as well. Might get teary eyed! Enjoy! :D :bear:

I liked it a lot! the song fits very well and I love the editing. I think it was very well done and I hope I can finish my video with this Avatar sometime.

I love this song.

As for the video, it was okay. I had no idea what was going on throughout the entirety of it. It started off nicely with those first 40 seconds, but then came the weird magic(??) scenes which totally threw me off. I'm not sure if that slow-mo and frame skip at 1:27 was from the Avatar or if you did it yourself, but it was unnecessary and made me cringe. I did enjoy the parts where it showed just the two characters and their relationship, but the other scenes of them with their magic/powers seemed so random and out of place, and I think the video would've worked a lot better without those being shown.

I think you would have to see the Avatar to better understand the scene selection chosen. I didn't think they were random at all.

You must of have not seen this Avatar. I suggest you watch it to see why I chose the scenes I did.

I thought the video was okay, about average. Simply edited (which I like), not brad by any means, just not anything that stood out. For me, though, the video seemed to lack dynamic. I could scroll to any point of it and it was exactly the same - they were sad for some reason and/or in a non-specific life-threatening situation. It needs some build up and development before you get to that point or else you lose all meaning. Knowing why a character is sad is as important as showing their reactions. Without that, it's like only hearing the punchline to a joke. I've seen KnK, so I know what's going on, but you can't expect that everyone has, particularly with something so new. Still, though, you said you're just getting back into editing so it's not like you have to create a masterpiece or anything, it's all good. The pairing of song/Avatar here is really good and I think it has potential to be a really moving video, given more story/character development.

Also, that credit sequence was way too long. It's like 20% of the video and you could've shaved a lot off the filesize just from shortening it.

How could there be more character development when there isn't much scenes to go by? I can see if it was a 24-26 episode series, but it wasn't. and I Chose to use the scenes I wanted. Not like Im doing this as a profession so I can really care less about anyone's opinions. I am just doing this for fun. I got more of a life taking care of my 2 1/2 year old daughter than spending my whole time trying to create something more meaningful, seems very meaningful to me. but then again can't please everybody.

I never expect everyone to see the Avatar, but I really don't know why everyone has to criticize every little detail in the video, just like watch it and if you enjoyed it, great, if not oh well.

Twelve episodes has more than enough footage for a four minute long Avatar Music Video, lack of footage isn't really a problem here, nor is "everyone" criticizing every little detail. I mean, I said it was a good pairing with good potential and that I didn't think it was brad, I was only offering how it could be better?
It's fine and dandy to want to have fun, that's why most of us edit, but I think that it's more reasonable to say, "Okay, thanks for the opinion, but I like it the way it is." than to say "I couldn't care less about anyone's opinions"? Particularly when you post it in the Avatar Music Video announcements, which has a rule thread stickied at the top that details what's expected from commenters, so I'm not sure what you expected.

but isn't the whole point of making a music video is on what you like it to be not what everyone else likes it to be? I get that everyone has their opinions, but to have someone change something based on one's opinion of what they don't like about it just seems to insult the editor that created it. I like the way it is and am not going to change it based on one or two opinions. I can see why I probably stopped making music videos in the first place.

I never said that you "have" to change your video and I'm not asking you to either. I replied with what I thought about your video, and that's just what it was, my thoughts. By posting your video here, you should already be expecting such comments. Isn't that what this section of the forum is for, anyway? And sorry, I'm not going to watch the Avatar just so I can understand your Avatar Music Video. In my opinion, the difference between a good Avatar Music Video and a better Avatar Music Video is that it doesn't need the viewers to have seen the source(s) to understand the video, if it needs to be understood.

???.because two people shared their opinion on a forum meant for sharing their opinions? Again, you can just say, "Thanks, but I disagree." and move on.

if you make videos for yourself, a few comments of constructive critique wouldn't be enough to make you "stop"? posting a thread in the video announcements is a green light for criticism. there's no need to blame or expect more out of viewers, or make excuses. accept critique and keep it in mind when editing your next video, or don't, who cares?

i liked this video. was wondering when someone was going to get around to using this song. the editing itself was simple and straightforward which i enjoyed a lot, videos edited like this are too rare lately. i thought the scene selection was nice and fitting (i've watched the Avatar), maybe certain scenes were dragged out a tad too long but that didn't bother me with this audio source - i can understand how certain scenes could confuse a viewer, and when editing i think it's best to assume any viewer hasn't watched the Avatar. the credits were excessive imo. overall this is a pretty cool video and i enjoyed it, nice job

edit: just realized i repeated what was said above :dino:

Well actually i did stop making music videos around the year 2007, because of the whole issue with when ayumix 2 was released. Did participate in an mep along with other studio members of AuN Studios in 2009. but other than that I stopped making music videos during those times til 2012 I made one music video, think there was only 1 in 2012. I created about 3 in 2013. And this website isnt the same as it was back then either, I get that, but geez.

I just liked this song and kept playing it over and over and thought i would make a music video with this song using this Avatar, cause I liked the Avatar and wanted to make a music video with it. I just created what I thought would make a good music video. but like I said in a before post, can't please everyone.

You basically just implied this series (and all other 13 episode Avatar) have very little character development.?.not enough for an Avatar Music Video? This is nonsense, sorry.
