quick question dude: In case any of your possible categories dont have enough videos and you want to merge videos into the main categories, will you ask the creator or the judges will do that?
Also, why not joining?

I initially slot them into the main categories for judging, but I also see if we do have enough videos and enough play time to make a themed category out of a collection of videos. I base it mainly on what we get in and if the videos actually do fit the theme. In the event that we do a category other than the "main" ones and the "Theme" category (which this year is Steampunk), I would make the creators aware of it beforehand.TritioAFB wrote:quick question dude: In case any of your possible categories dont have enough videos and you want to merge videos into the main categories, will you ask the creator or the judges will do that?

Re: Tekko 2014 AMV Contest - Deadline March 2, 2014
So it seems comcrap has struck again and I don't have internet at home right now, at least internet that my server can access. So again, while the entry system is still up and I am receiving all FTP requests I currently cannot authorize any as the FTP server is unable to be reached. I'm having cables re-ran on Tuesday morning and should have this resolved then. If not, I will have an alternative FTP system setup to accept entries and will let all entrants know this new info once setup. Otherwise, if the internet issues is resolved FTP accounts and access will resume on Tuesday.
Sorry for the inconvenience to everyone. Seriously, it's pissing me off as much (if not more) then it is any of you.

The internet issues have been resolved (at least for now) and FTP access is back up and normal. I've sent out all FTP credentials that I have gotten requests for and you should expect to see those in your email inboxes shortly. I will also begin the first part of the process of QC for all submitted entries (final QC and final pass of course will come from GQ.)
One thing to note is that there is a usage quota for each account, and that is 500MB. You should not be using FTP to submit a file that is larger then that and I recommend snail-mail for files larger then 500MB. Also, the FTP server will flat out reject any file type that is not in he approved file format list.

I'm also okay with getting files from a file-sharing site, if they allow the size above 500MB -- just drop me the link by PM or e-mail -- but if you want to mail the file on DVD, you need to PM or e-mail me as soon as possible, so I can provide you with instructions.ngsilver wrote:One thing to note is that there is a usage quota for each account, and that is 500MB. Please keep in mind that if you have finished uploading your entry(s) via FTP to log back into the entry system and select close FTP for each video you have completed upload for. I cannot process any entries submitted until the FTP account is closed. The sooner you do this, the sooner we can process your entries and the sooner you'll know if you passed QC.
Failure to do this will result in me having to forcefully close the FTP account after the deadline and only then begin processing your entries. So if you submitted early, take advantage of early processing, otherwise your video will be processed with every last min entry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A note on entry status as well. If your video is marked as 'Video Received' then it has been processed and passed the first part of QC that I do (verify file format, subtitles, length, bumpers, logos) and the entry has been passed on to GQ for final processing and QC. Once GQ has checked the video and verified it to pass all the rules the entry should be marked as 'Video Checked'. Once the video has been accepted as part of the contest it will be marked with the status 'Video Accepted'. If there are issues, your video will either be marked as DQ'ed or Problems Found.
All status has been updated for all entries that have been released to me to process. Keep in mind, processing goes faster if the entry is submitted using the naming scheme requested by the system.
Re: Tekko 2014 AMV Contest - Deadline March 2, 2014
First, I am sending out e-mail responses and updating the status on ngsilver's contest site, so check both to verify your entry status. Here's a quick guide to the contest site's status information:
Before Judging:
- Video Checked: You're fine. I approved the video and added it to the contest list for the judges' review.
- Problems Found: There is an issue with the video received, mostly due to not meeting a rule requirement. An e-mail follow-up will advise you of the situation.
After Judging:
- Video Accepted: Selected as a finalist after judge review and will be in the main contest (or accepted if submitted for the Extreme contest)
- Accepted for Overflow: The video did not make the main contest cut, but will be shown in an overflow program.
---------------------------------
btw, we have 5 days to go until submissions end, and we could use a lot more videos in all sorts of categories. It's still a pretty open field of competition for our contest, so please consider sending some entries our way.
