Any fan material is acceptable. We've had videos that used live action, American animation, and last year's Comedy category winner was the wonderful Pony Note.

Gah, I almost lost it at the showings last night. I got to see a lot of awesome videos, and it felt absolutely amazing to win at my 'home convention'. AFest's the con that convinced me to keep going to cons, and it's a con I always look forward to, so being able to enter the contest, and having the judges enjoy my entry so much...yeah, that made my weekend. :D

Yay winners! :) I can only hope I got a decent reaction from my AMV. And not too many fangirls squeeing and/or laughing at my video. :)

Brakus,

I know that you've gotten this reaction before with The Hero You're Dreaming Of, but the audience mostly figured you were aiming for comedy. Enough Boys Love material flies off the shelves in the dealer's room that I know that there's an audience for it at Animefest, but if that audience was at the viewing, it was lost in the reactions by the folks who thought you were strictly making a parody video.
