so, I picked up the manga right after finishing the anime, had to do a little backtracking but they matched up pretty well all things considered. It's pretty good although they had a month long break due to a spinoff series starting or something. If you watched the anime and liked it definitely check out the manga, some really cool stuff happening

x2. Though I really don't get why they had to change stuff and make an anime original ending for S1. :| I mean, they adapted the rest of it pretty faithfully and it wasn't like it was a bad cut off point in the manga so it just seems so...pointless?

Anyway I LOL'd when Kouen turned up and destroyed Alibaba's chance of showing off his new awesome moves.

Oh and the spinoff series is the Adventure of Sinbad. So it's pretty much how he became what he is today, it's quite interesting. :)

Just caught up, things are getting pretty real! Kouen's posse looks way more overpowered than Sinbad's >___>

Spoiler :
Just when you think Magnostadt was the final boss for this arc, crazy Kou Empire lady comes in with her giant ball from the sky. I wonder how it's all going to pan out...Is Kouen going to help Aladdin and fight his mother?

Damn, so many transformations. o__o Kouen's definitely looks the most badass though. :awesome:
Spoiler :
But I'm still wondering what they're gonna do about their mother. Do they even know that she was behind the whole thing?

I always thought they did? Assuming they know about the link between Gyokuen-->Kou Empire-->Judar-->Al-Thamen and Al-Thamen's ultimate goal of recreating the destruction from Alma Toran.

Freckles looks pretty cool, but I gotta hand it to Kouen. He's so awesome o__o Btw I found it a bit weird that Kouen looked 10 years younger on page 14-15. CHIBI KOUEN FOR THE WIN!

I'm still wondering what Hakuryuu's been up to this whole time, or Morgiana. Was it just me, or did she show up in a few frames on the boat with the other finalis a couple chapters back... It may have just been a nameless character who looked like her though.

Jesus, those flesh wounds made me cringe. Kouen's all like "yeah, I just got my flesh ripped out, no big deal"

But Kyougoku's going real hard in the paint :ying:

I was wondering about that until the newest chapter reminded me he had a healing Djinn. Perfect for healing that ripped flesh.

But seriously, after all those badass attacks the boss still isn't dead? :| Good grief, what more do they need? Though Hakuryuu hasn't appeared yet so it's possible they're waiting for something from him.

If I remember correctly, Sinbad also had a Djinn that turned him into chibi form but that was ages ago back when Alibaba and co. were still in Sindria. Totally setting the two up to be archrivals. XD

is this series supposed to be ending soon? all these huge fights keep breaking out and now it feels like they're fighting the final boss (I suppose the empress sort of fills that role but her whole purpose was to summon this giant evil which is now here). hope it doesn't end, series feels way to short, not nearly enough development for some characters.

Yeah, they pretty much wrecked him throughout the whole chapter but there's always gotta be a damn final evolution for mid-game bosses >____> I'm pretty sure it's not ending here either. This is a large scale battle but I think it was all meant to introduce the Ren family and their powers to set up for future arcs with them. Plus Sinbad vs Kouen still needs to happen, now THAT will be the most epic thing I've ever seen. :awesome:

But even after seeing all these powers I still think Aladdin is the best. Summoning three Ugos is just freaking awesome man :ying:

Totally agree! The battle feels pretty intense but it's also too soon for the series to end since there's a bunch of stuff they still need to explain, like the Fanalis, the magi Yunan, how Al-Thamen even got here from the other world, connection between Solomon and Aladdin just to name a few.

And a final battle without Sinbad just doesn't feel right. :|

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh snappppppppp, what a plot twist! Though I was confused for a few pages wondering if that was really Gyokuen, she looks way too sane in this chapter :uhoh: Just a few chapters ago she was all creepy and crazy-eyed, now she's all calm and collected.

I'm also enjoying the Alma Toran discussion going on in the recent chapters. I actually had very little idea what Alma Toran was. <___< I got it mixed up with Al-Thamen a few times, but that's just bad reading on my part. But now I think I'm up to speed on this parallel world and I'm excited to see what happens in the next chapter!
