Here's my usual "scrutinizing the rules as a public service"
The second half of that sentence is fundamentally incompatible with the first -- XviD/MP3 works fine for AVI files, sure, but it's impossible in MPEGs and WMVs and sub-optimal for MP4 (people prefer x264/AAC).The Rules wrote:Files for competition should be AVI, MPG, WMV or MP4 format and compressed using DivX or xVid video compression and MP3 audio compression.
Also, are there any guidelines on frame rate, resolution, audio sample rate, etc.?

Your right, we will correct that for next years rulesThe second half of that sentence is fundamentally incompatible with the first -- XviD/MP3 works fine for AVI files, sure, but it's impossible in MPEGs and WMVs and sub-optimal for MP4 (people prefer x264/AAC).
We are very lenient on such matters, quite honestly as long as the video is in good quality and does not break any rules it is acceptable. Also, are there any guidelines on frame rate, resolution, audio sample rate, etc.?

I've submitted an MP4 (h.264 - aac) last year and was displayed at the contest.
It's okay if I do the same this year. I'm unfamilliar with MPG and AVI.

Like rules says, as long it work with cccp pack is fine. And mp4 is always better, like fashion for light files and high quality .imXify wrote:I've submitted an MP4 (h.264 - aac) last year and was displayed at the contest.
