ANN wrote:The story begins in the distant future in the far reaches of the galaxy. The Human Galactic Alliance has been constantly fighting for its survival against a grotesque race of beings called Hideous. During an intense battle, the young lieutenant Red and his humanoid mobile weapon Chamber are swallowed up into a distortion of time and space.

Waking from his artificially induced hybernation, Red realises that he has arrived on Earth, the planet on the lost frontier. On this planet that was completely flooded by the seas, people live in fleets of giant ships, salvaging relics from the seas' depths in order to survive.

Red arrives on one of the fleets called Gargantia. With no knowledge of the planet's history or culture, he is forced to live alongside Amy, a 15-year-old girl who serves as a messenger aboard the Gargantia fleet. To Red, who has lived a life where he knows nothing but fighting, these days of peace continue to surprise him.

Wow, MAL marked this as a 12 episode series. This makes me extremely sad. ;_____;

I decided to check this out since I thought the setting was interesting. The first episode was much better than I expected, and I'm excited to see where the series is going from here.

So far so good. Really pretty technical space battle stuff in the beginning, but now we're on Earth. The girl is really cute.

Loved the first two episodes! Kinda sucks that its only set for 12 total, though. :c I hope it ends up accomplishing a lot in 12 episodes

This series instantly became my top new fav. The writing of this show is so damn good. The dialogue is also friggin hilarious.

By far the funniest "lost-in-translation" lines ever:
Spoiler :
Chamber: Those were statements regarding reproduction with ones mother as well as sanctified excrement.
Ledo: Just as I thought, they're savages!

Lol. Mother fucker, holy shit! :rofl:

Definitely following this. Everyone else is definitely missing out on a great anime.
Almost as hard as fighting a Holy Paladin.

Holy shit. Episode 2 even better then the first one. Didn't expect this to get this good. :awesome:
Spoiler :
Also, the way he just annihilated all the pirates was just way too awesome. Man, earthlings are gonna be almost scared of him now :)

God that is one overpowered robot. The vaporization was a little (extremely) overkill. I'm really interested in how the townsfolk react to all of this.
