Anime Expo 2013 - Meet & Greet DINNER 7/3 @ 7pm

Post by Rider4Z » Sun Mar 17, 2013 6:46 pm

ANIME EXPO MEET & GREET:
Wed July 3 (Day 0) 7pm @ ZenCu Sushi & Grill

ZenCu Sushi is located at 319 E. 2nd Street, Suite 206, Los Angeles, CA 90012. For those of you who know Anime Jungle in Little Tokyo, it's located on the 2nd floor directly above them. I reserved our group for 20-30 people from 7pm til closing which is 10:30pm. Parking in the parking structure costs $4 after 4pm.
Spoiler :
So last year was a first. We had an entire panel room to ourselves for 2 hours. Editors got a chance to promote themselves individually showing previous works, and lots of people earned awesome prizes for "Naming that AMV". Two issues I didn't like about how it went: 1, we got scheduled way too early on day 1. 11am on day 2 or 3 may not have been as bad, but day 1 people were still getting settled so either came late or couldn't come at all. 2, the set-up wasn't that great for those who wanted to mingle.

Segue, the dinner the night before was a great atmosphere for mingling. I blame having to sit on the tatami mats for that. It made people get up and wander so they could stretch their legs. Unfortunately, some found it too uncomfortable to want to do it again. Also, Honda-Ya wasn't very accommodating about having to split the checks up. Granted they did it, but they weren't happy about it.

Something else I want to know, do you guys like the poster I create each year for everyone to sign? I ask because it takes a lot of effort on my part to make it, but if it's not appreciated then I'd rather not spend the time each year to put it together. Last year, I think only 3 or 4 people actually tried to win it. Is identifying videos in the poster too hard?

So this was my take on last year's Meet & Greet. What I'd like from you guys is input. Do we want the panel again? Dinner? Where and when? The more input the better.

1-2-3-GO!

I'd like to go to the dinner, but I don't want to show how terrible of an amv maker I am. I like the poster, but maybe make it easier? So it's less work for you and easier for people to solve.

I think the panel was pretty neat, I'd be down for having it again [perhaps with some new additions to activities, though I dont have any ideas off the top of my head] as long as it was at a later time. Weather it's day 1 or another day dooesn;t bother me as long as I don't have to bring my luggage straight from the train through the convention center again. Nooot fun.

As for the poster, Im always interested in it, but if you decided not to do ti due to time I'd also understand. You're running these other AMV events, after all.

I would love to make it, however it all depends on my duties with setup, etc at the time...

If you can hafe a panel, hopefully you can get the sae room as last time, I just like how that room is setup.

I didn't mind the mats, although if we could go to the same restaurant and sit in a different section, that would be ok as well.

I would LOVE to attend this, mainly cause it'd give me the chance to meet and befriend more fellow editors, I just have to find a way to get to Anime Expo this year.
