Special Thanks to the Judging Team ReplayStudios, SVProductions and Myself (this was great fun guys and thanks for all the help)

Here is a bit of the rules in short

1) Up to 25 of the BEST selected AMVs will be shown. Selection will be made by the San Japan Staff. Entries will be decided between the following categories:

Action
Comedy
Drama
General
Texas-Region (new category this year)

Single & Multi-Edit (MEP) entries are allowed.

2) All footage is allowed but anime material is highly preferred. Video Game CG and non-anime footage will be docked.

3) We will still be giving Amazon Gift Cards as a prize for each category with $75 for the winner of each category, $175 for the top overall winner from all of the categories. We will be adding a brand new category starting in 2013 with ‘Texas-Region’ giving Texas AMV Creators their own category so they’re recognized for their work.

If the winner is outside of the USA then they will get a Electronic Amazon Gift Card.

4) Entries made between Feb 2013 up to the deadline of July 18th, 2013 will be highly preferred. There is no limit on the number of entries. AMVs submitted to other AMV contests besides San Japan is allowed. Entries submitted to a prior San Japan AMV Contest will not be accepted.

Now time to give credit where credit is due =)

At the risk of sounding like a total newb, what do you mean by Multi-Edit (MEP) entries are allowed?

Another quick question. Would I be able to use a cover song by someone? If so how would I cite them if they don't have an album and I got the song off someplace like Youtube or iTunes?

Hi, I've sent a question in through both the San Japan site and on the thread here about music and still haven't heard a response. If someone could please let me know so I can start working I would really appreciate it. Thanks. My question again is would I be able to use a cover song by someone? If so how would I cite them if they don't have an album and I got the song off someplace like Youtube or iTunes? Again thanks for the time and consideration.

A cover song is fine, just cite the original artist.

Out of curiosity... did you guys get approval from the editor to use that Ouran HSHC/Vampire Knight crossover video at the bottom of the page as your example of what not to do?
