I'm sure we have some movie buffs out there! :asd:

So I have to make some predictions for the Oscars and my teach said we could use any resources we liked, so I'd like to enlist the help of the org! (please?) :awesome:

You can fill out the whole thing or just say a couple of predictions  http://o.aolcdn.com/os/movies/awards/2013-oscar-ballot

Here, I filled it out for you.
I kinda had to guess in places, though, because I really haven't seen as many movies as I should this past year :(
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Wreck-It Ralph wins everything ever.

Paperman was attached to Wreck-It Ralph, so it gets to win too.

This ceremony is literally walking distance from my apartment on Hollywood Blvd at the Dolby Theater and every year traffic is congested for hours.

Anyways, I'm going to voice what I would like to win rather than what I think would win.

BEST PICTURE
Would've chosen The Master actually. Personally, I really think this movie got shoved under the bus by the Academy because they didn't want it to piss off the Scientologists. I guess the movie is too "controversial" for Hollywood.

q ‘Silver Linings Playbook’

BEST DIRECTOR
Sadly, Paul Thomas Anderson isn't nominated this year. Same reasons for The Master not being nominated. Was surprised to not see Ben Affleck nominiated for Best Director though.

q David O. Russell, ‘Silver Linings Playbook’

BEST ACTOR
q Joaquin Phoenix, ‘The Master’

BEST ACTRESS
q Jennifer Lawrence, ‘Silver Linings Playbook’

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
q Phillip Seymour Hoffman, ‘The Master’

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
q Jacki Weaver, ‘Silver Linings Playbook’

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM
q ‘Wreck-It Ralph’

BEST FOREIGN FILM
Don't know. Haven't seen any of these films yet.

BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
q ‘Zero Dark Thirty’

BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
q ‘Argo’

BEST COSTUME DESIGN
q ‘Lincoln’

BEST ORIGINAL SONG
q “Skyfall” from ‘Skyfall’

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE
q ‘Argo’

BEST DOCUMENTARY
q ‘The Invisible War’

BEST DOCUMENTARY (SHORT)
Don't know.

BEST MAKEUP & HAIRSTYLING
Honestly, Lincoln should've at least gained attention for this one. The makeup on Daniel-Day Lewis really is amazing.

q ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’

BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN
q ‘Les Misérables’

BEST FILM EDITING
q ‘Argo’

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY
q ‘Django Unchained’

BEST SOUND EDITING
q ‘Argo’

BEST SOUND MIXING
q ‘Argo’

BEST VISUAL EFFECTS
q ‘Prometheus’ - Literally every frame in this movie can be a poster.

BEST SHORT FILM (ANIMATED)
q ‘Paperman’

BEST SHORT FILM (LIVE ACTION)
Don't know.
