The recent years have left a kind of bad taste in my mouth too, so I am still unsure if I even want to participate in it again. I'll still go to show my support by watching on Day 1, but submitting something is gonna take "if I have the time/have something already done" sideline.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't of become Xstylus' Assistant if I did not believe the contest had become worth it. and I do have high standards (one can only hope :awesome: )

You'd think that'd be an easy question. My knee-jerk reaction was "of course" and wrote up a rule based on how we did it in the past, but by the time I was done it felt as if the co-creators were getting a bit screwed.

Basically the way it was handled in the past was that a project video counts as one entry for each member of the collaboration. So, if person A and B made a collaboration and person B had three AMVs he made on his own that he wanted to enter, he could only enter two because the collaboration counted as one already. Further complicating that is there's only one award. If the collaboration project wins, who gets it?

There's two possible answers I'm debating, as below. Feedback welcomed.

Tentative answer for the FAQ (NOT YET FINAL):
Spoiler :
---
Question:
Are team collaborations permitted?

Answer (Candidate 1):
Yes, but there is a technicality to be mindful of. If the individual members
of a collaboration project also want to submit individual non-collaboration
entries, the collaboration project already counts as one entry for each
member. Also, the group must specify a single person who shall be the
primary recipient of any prize(s) awarded, and who shall bear all
responsibility in determining how the prize(s) shall be shared or divided.

Answer (Candidate 2):
Technically, yes, with certain requirements.
1) There must be a “Primary Creator.” This should be the person who did the most work on the project.
2) All co-creators must be listed on the entry form.
3) All co-creators shall be assumed to have granted permission for the Primary Creator to represent them and their work. If any of the co-creators contact us to object to the video’s participation, an “Inexcusable Rule” violation will be declared on the person who submitted the entry.
4) If the entry is bestowed an award, the Primary Creator shall receive that award and shall assume all responsibility for sharing and/or dividing it amongst the entry’s co-creators.
5) The submission shall count only against the Primary Creator’s entry count.
