  • No dependencies, except for avisynth for script processing
Notes:
  • This software is not secure/stable so use it on your own risk.
  • There might be issues with multichannel audio encoding.
  • 64-bit version might be unstable cause of x264 issues, use 32-bit in this case.
  • In order to work with avisynth scripts 32-bit version requires 32-bit avisynth.
  • In order to work with avisynth scripts 64-bit version requires 64-bit avisynth.
  • Temporary files are stored in TEMP Baka Encoder folder located in disk root,
e.g. if you are encoding file
    "C:/My Documents/my amv.avi"
    temp folder will be
    "C:/TEMP Baka Encoder/"
This folder is created in the begging of encoding and is automatically deleted after encoding.
  • Presets are stored in Baka Encoder.config.xml file.
  • It is possible to add any amount of presets to config file – Baka Encoder window will adjust size to display them all.
  • base_bitrate suppose to hold bitrate for 640x480 24fps video, resulting bitrate for video encoding will calculated by adjusting it according to source video resolution and fps. Set it to 0 to disable automatic bitrate calculation.
  • max_bitrate caps calculated bitrate. Set it to 0 to disable bitrate limiting.
  • RAM consumption (approximate)
    SD - 0.5 .. 1 Gb
    HD 720p - 1 .. 3 Gb
    HD 1080p - over 3 Gb (for 64-bit version)

Over the last few months Baka Encoder was almost completely reworked and as a result there is a new version ready that fixes all the issues found in previous releases and contains a number of general improvements:
  • Baka Encoder now uses my custom clutter-free x264 builds from latest sources
  • Baka Encoder now uses my custom mp4box build from latest sources
  • decoding and colorspace conversion is now performed with my custom tool with help of libav
  • added hybrid 32-64 modification which can use 32-bit avisynth with 64-bit x264
  • added MJPG input codec support
  • added RGB48 input colorspace support (16bits per channel)
  • added support for logging
  • reduced usage of temp files
  • input files are not indexed before encoding
  • Baka Encoder became up to 15% faster compared to previous version
  • improved encoding progress indication
  • better tooltips for presets
  • executable now is not packed so antivirus software doesn't produce false alerts anymore
  • executable size was reduces by 50%
  • added German, Portuguese (Brazilian), Estonian and Polish translations
Also note that download link in my first post is not valid anymore, and since I'm unable to edit it here is new (working) download link:

Over the passed time Baka Encoder have been significantly improved.
First of all, it got support for encoding h265 / HEVC video with x265, both 8 and 10 bit.
Colorspace conversion quality became even better and now Baka Encoder not only properly deals with normal and high bit depth inputs, but beats Avisynth and build-in x264 filters in this matter.
Configuration file got a detailed reference.
Advanced users can also make Baka Encoder utilize their own CLI tools by placing x264-8.exe, x264-10.exe, x265-8.exe, x265-10.exe in the same folder.

Get it
