Kit - I totally feel you. Same thing happened to me a few times in college and I felt like I was going to even lose a good friend over it. While you come up with a solution, you have to focus on two very important points. First, the fact that you recognize it's a problem to behave that way means you're not worthless or a waste. Second, the fact that you agonize over it means you have empathy and aren't completely selfish. Those easily put you above the millions of shiftless do-nothings out there. Giving a shit enough to feel guilty actually has a bright side.

Nah, you're no not job. That's very much the way I feel about it. I voted for Ron Paul, even though I knew there was no way he would be elected. This is an excerpt from my FB about my political feelings:

my cousin: "Leave it to politics to bring out the inner beast in people. Its actually pretty funny."

my stupidly long response: "It's not funny. That beast just exposes peoples' ignorance. It's like the grand finale of American Idol. It's about impulse, about immediate feel. It's hedonism. Even the more logical are rendered stupid by the competition. There's no rational discourse because emotions run too high. Feelings run too strong. And we all know that our thoughts don't even matter when it comes to the election.

The most vocal in these elections, these debates, they are the ones with platitudes and aphorisms and political slogans. The tools that mindwash the weak and weary. The ones who look at their lives and wonder why they aren't better. The people who see improvement from a simple plan and think it's worth their money. Not questioning what they HAVEN'T DONE, but instead what hasn't been given to them. They're buying into an infomercial because their base instincts appeal to them. And we poor... we don't wonder. We know these informercials are nonsense. They're beyond our grasp, and they should be, because we can't afford them. Because we don't need them. Anything beyond food and shelter is excess to us.

We don't vote for Obama because he's a socialist, because he's far from it. But people castracize him for his social policies. We're apparently still so afraid of socialism that we need total capitalism. Not understanding that it is just as imprisoning as a socialist network. And we've been leaning that way for years, which is why the agricultural world has been so diminished. Corporate policies and companies like Monsanto have ruined our agricultural power.

They're starting to control us. The big companies. The people with all the money and the power."

And this was pro-Obama rant, even though I didn't vote for him. I preferred him over Romney, easily, and I hope that his next term isn't so constrained, but he's not the person I want as President. Obama and Romney are both about governmental power, but Ron Paul wants to get rid of most of that. Romney wants to use the government for big things, letting big corporations have more freedom because that apparently means a better economy, but he'd be strong on war and other wasteful uses of our money. Obama is pretty middle-ground; he's for some social programs, has some liberal sentiments, and wants to get us out of the "war." I think Romney is the more expensive. But Ron Paul is the first candidate in years to have ideas that I hadn't thought of, and I support him wholly. Those ideas are just too radical to be adapted into our society right now. Or ever. We'll collapse before we let a reasonable person be President.

One of my coworkers has officially let the powers that be know that she is leaving the city at the end of the month. While this is potentially good for me, as in I can take her job, I'm rather dissapointed still. The last four years I've been working here have been pretty awesome. It's not just the work I do, it's the people I work with that make it awesome. Seeing any one of them go will always be disappointing i guess :\

Taite I have to agree with you. Well except for the Ron Paul thing. (I personally will have a side conversation with you on that one) but as a 2012 voter me and my friend were discussing this on the way to the ballots. She was telling me "you have to choose the nicer of the two evils(or something like that.) There is nothing we can do except that. We have a choice to not vote. But honestly doing that would/could only ensure things go down hill. It is very aggreviatIng to expect so little (or nothing) to come for the next 4 years. The reason I voted for the person in voted for was because he kinda sorta had something's that would benefit me. Not much you can do.

Now about that "US politics" class. :dino:

Been having stupid eye problems for over a month. First, I thought it was pink eye, but now I'm not so sure. I went to the doctor the first time, and it got better for a while, but it never stayed better. Went back a week or two later, and my doctor gave me more medicine. Result: ALL DRUGGED UP, NO HELPY!!!!

When I finished everything she gave me, it would be fine until night time. At night, I'd start having problems again. So I told my brother to take me to our other doctor (not the one I went to first and second time), just incase. But, he didn't want to because it'd only be bad at night. Ok? Now, it's almost the same as how my eyes were when I first had it. Told my brother again to take me to the doctor, but he refuses to because there's "nothing wrong" with my eyes. HELLO, I'M OVER HERE LOOKING LIKE I'M ABOUT TO CRY BLOOD. Today he told me to call an optometrist, BUT I DON'T WEAR GLASSES OR CONTACTS OR ANY OF THAT SH*T. I told him, "This isn't right because I don't even wear glasses." And he says, "Well, no reason to go to the doctor when there's nothing wrong with your eyes." YA OK THEN FACK YOU TOO.

And I can't get my mom to take me, because she went on a lovely vacation to China for a whole month. l0l ok. But I think she'll be back in a week or two, so if I can wait that long... -___-

I know, what the hell. Do people really want boots that badly? And the lack of boobs makes this job so much less interesting.

I remember that one time I had to ban a couple of gay porn spambots though, that was something :amv:
