My rage is primarily directed at those who deliberately troll and straight up know it. However, when others do it, it just makes it easier for those who are out there to WINZ ALL THE AWARDZ. It's easier and more comfortable to hide in a pack than it is to be singled out for what you are. Hence why I think it should be discouraged. While the intent isn't always the same, the end product really isn't a whole lot more than just straight up negative.

Personally, I only submit to cons that I want to support. Meaning ones that I want to/will attend, contests where I have been personally asked by the coordinator or someone involved to submit, or cons that seem to actually care about promoting the hobby but need some help. But then again, with the third instance I simply offer to help out the coordinator and show them how to pull in entries the proper way. Give a man a fish or teach him, etc... :P All in all, I enter maaaaaybe a maximum of 4 conventions a year. So far, my success rate is about 75% so I still don't see the need to troll. >>

Good interview.. Too bad you don't live near here, I'd far more trust am AMV editor to be my doctor

To be quite honest, why would you not make AMVs to entertain audiences? making people happy (i.e. I got a e-mail once about a mother who's young daughter's whole day is made by watching her favorite AMVs each morning). If I can make even one person happy, I't all worth it for me...

As for contest trolling.. Let’s not even go there, this will just light up lie a stagecoach doused in gasoline.

Vlad

I'm all for con videos (such as Senpai Says, The Audition, etc...) don't get me wrong there. But to say that the only reason for anyone to make an AMV is to try and impress a convention audience doesn't sit well with me.

According to this thread the majority of people do it for fun and to challenge themselves. Not to please the 426 Naruto cosplays who ended up at the contest showing :P
So yeah, sorry if I was unclear. Nothing against videos made specifically for an audience but last time I checked the majority of editors don't create their videos with that particular goal in mind.

Now I'm going to crawl back under a blanket and continue feeling miserably sick. Night night...

Tritio, good stuff man. All my respect for your determination as a doctor, and then to have the extra energy to make videos too :)
