Having problems that I didn't have before Prepping footage

Post by TwilightChrono » Tue Oct 09, 2012 10:16 pm

Well, I was so used to prepping my footage then mounting the scripts and editing that way. But it doesnt seem to work anymore. I keep getting that files imported can't be open in vegas.

And I can't make fake AVI's anymore either. I get the same message as well.

Can I get some help on another way? I'm at a loss and can't for th elife of me figure it out.

Thanks guys.

Another way? Yea, it's called dumping everything to lossless files.

It's dangerous to go alone, take this.

I love this line, Bashar.

But yes, can't say I'm surprised that fake AVI editing turns out to be randomly unreliable. It is the reason why I discourage it.

Do you recommend turning the whole dvd into lossless or just select scenes?

Whole dvd would be pretty big, so, unless you have the space and absolutely prefer to do the scene selection in the NLE, cutting clips in virtual dub first is the suggested approach.

Nah, dump whole discs. Storage is cheap, and it's a pain in the ass to have to go back because you screwed up the clipping or need more filler scenes after the fact.
