Yeah I understand the reasoning for not screening it during the awards bit and I'm certainly not complaining because I don't have a dog in that fight and if the creator is ok with it what can I say? ... it was just a bit jarring for me that something that played on network tv (although without dbz kids) wasn't ok to show but a few videos after it was skipped there was a ghost in the shell video with full on naked breasts albeit only for a moment. Just saying... again doesn't bother me and I know there are a ton of factors that go into what you can and can't show. Just wanted to comment.

So back to Masters...

just continuing on that comment... (lol sorry) i'll just use an example to explain the difference. Titanic is PG-13. Kate Winslet's bare chest is visible only during the art scene. You'll notice when her and dicaprio are making love her chest is covered. the scene of Ghost in the Shell is all about the construction of her anatomy, no sexual innuendo.

Consider the image of a mother giving milk to her newborn baby. Is that sexual content? only to the perverse i hope.

However, on actual broadcast and cable TV, ratings are all about what is actually shown and actually said, not what is implied or inferred. That distinction is what keeps SNL on the air. That very distinction is what has shaped sexual humor on television in the US. Artificially censoring non-offensive things to make them funnier even became a meme on the late night network talk shows. It's generally understood that if you censor it, it's fair game. The FCC won't touch it. Even if it's blatantly obvious what's being censored.

so in your opinion, do you think Mother's Day Special could make it past television censors?

As it exists in a already censored state, most certainly on Comedy Central, quite possibly on network broadcast as well.

I would bet yes... considering it's no more visually controversial than the original which did air on network tv albeit late at night. Although now after watching it again I got a kick out of picturing Susan Sarandon playing Bulma.

I apologise if you were upset with my entry, however I did send a newer video that had only participated in a handful of competitions, and keep in mind that half the contetsts the video placed in happened after the Pro deadline. Additionally I wanted to participate as it is one of few contests that would actually allow it to compete.

I wouldn't say I'm upset, I was just pointing a few things out since the topic arose.

I think the contest turned out pretty well with only 6 awards going to videos that were available online before the contest and/or won in other competitions.
