Would this laptop be able to run 7.0 fine?

Post by Sayoria » Sat Sep 08, 2012 3:37 am

Now, I am no laptop and spec tech person, so I am pretty much a complete newb to all of this, but would this laptop run Vegas 7.0 fine?

https://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/store ... 1666441695

It says:

"3rd gen Intel® Core™ i5-3210M (2.50/3.10GHz)
Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Features: 14" LED backlit display, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, CD/DVD player/burner, Intel® HD graphics 4000, Boomdizzle, headphones"

Which I want to SAY is fine, but I want assurance before I blow 1000 on a laptop that won't work Vegas well enough. Also, while I am asking this here, does anyone also know if this laptop would come with everything I need to get it online? It sounds like I might need to buy something else to get it online, but I am not sure.

Thank you guys and girls.

For your first question, I want to know how well do you think "well" is?

Pretty much, you know, little to no lag. As well as I run it on a desktop.

What does "get it online" mean? Connecting to internet?

If you have means of connection (ethernet cable, WiFi network), then 99% yes. They don't really make laptops that can't connect to internet anymore nowadays.

Yeah, that's what I meant, I hae neer had a laptop before, but I got it now, and this Laptop actually came with Vegas HD Platinum 11.0. It's pretty awesome. One issue I am encountering though, if anyone knows how to change this:

I usually highlight areas on the timeline I want to render to test out how the video looks.... like say I have a 6 minute video, and I am editing at 4:23 - 4:31. I used to highlight 4:23 - 4:31 on the timeline, then I would render, and it would render just that area. In 11.0, doing that still renders the whole video. I don't know how new this is, but if anyone knows why it isn't rendering what I am highlighting, what is going on? I don't want to fully render every video clip as the full project every time. :/

Project -> Render As...
There should be a check box for "Render loop region only".

If you are trying to preview something but need to rpe-render it, highlight the area and hit shift+b, if you did not know that already.
