looking for a little bit of compression

Post by zibbazabba905 » Thu Aug 02, 2012 12:22 pm

trying to upload a file and its 157mb, so I need to get rid of 7mb. its already a 1080x720 mp4. where do I cut down to get it to fit but not be too bad in quality?

If there is a mostly static scene, you could try to make a zone and increase the crf a bit just there. It's only 7mb, so it should be enough.

Any reason for the odd resolution (14:9)?
Have you already tried just changing the Quantizer? That's the simplest solution.

As far as resolution goes, I'm assuming it was a typo.

typo

are either of these doable in avisynth? cause it appears not able in vegas. I tried undersampling the intro and credits and got it down to 153... not enough still

Wat... you're supposed to export lossless from vegas and encode with zarxgui. Vegas' h.264 encoder is pretty derpy.

AMVsimple works fine too, you'll make a major change in filesize with mirkosp's way.

Yeah he queried me on IRC yesterday and it seems he was able to solve mostly on his own after going the lossless+zarxgui route.
