Pony Music Video contest at Brony Fan Fair, Austin, TX.

Before I announce what new convention we are hosting the contest I just want to say something.

This new contest may not be for the hard-core anime fan and may seem a bit out of place here. We at AnimeFunTV love all varieties of not just 'anime' but the entire animation industry [AnimeFunTV actually means Animation Fun on TV]. No one can really say they are absolutely all about anime from Japan and ignore everything else. We are planning on proving that point in the future, but for now this new contest is for something that has been growing quite rapidly in all places.

AnimeFunTV presents its first ever, Pony Music Video contest at Brony Fan Fair in Austin, TX, September 8-9th 2012

Okay, I can hear all the groans in the forum.

Again as we explained above, we do not discriminate against any animations and we think this a great opportunity for some anime fans who like My Little Pony to try something different and new.

Online Submission form, Rules & Guidelines are located Here. Also again, you may upload your video directly to us.

Deadline is August 31, 2012 @ Midnight Central Time.

The PMV Contest will coordinated by our AFTV staff member Chris Gloria.

Putting what this really is in the thread title might actually get you more replies.

Also, if you don't actually accept anime (as defined by this site) in the contest, the thread might be better suited to the off-topic section of the forums.

True that this contest isn't for anime, it's still a contest though and it would have to be up to the admins to decide if it should stay here or get moved to the off-topic section.

I personally think that it should stay here even though its not your typical Japanese animation contest, I like all animations and trying something just a bit different is worth a shot either way. Do not get me wrong, in no way am I trying to take away the anime here. Just trying to shake it up a little and keep things fresh.

There are quite a few other contests that will take PMVs, but of course they are not exclusive to them either. I know many have asked me why I haven't started a PMV contest for other cons. It's a great idea I think. Just no one has asked me to ^^()

Though you may want to update your page info. The deadline is set for September 31st, yet the con happens before that...
