I haven't seen the OVA yet but overall I'm a little disappointed in this series. I like it, and I enjoy watching it, but after a big buildup at the start the whole zombie thing has almost been a non-issue. She eats leaves, she's strong, and she needs to keep the AC up high... that's about it. You could take ALL of that out and it would be the exact same story of a daughter running from her crazy father.

I was really hoping her being a zombie would play a much bigger role in the show. I'm sure it'll come up at the end but I was hoping for more. I think a tragic, ultimately futile fight of a boy trying to save the girl he loves from slowly rotting away, and the eventual realization not only that it's not possible, but that his desire for an "undead girlfriend" were naive and childish.

Yeah it does seem a bit weird how lightly others have reacted to her zombiism. Then again she doesn't really look like a traditional zombie, but when she starts rotting and limbs start falling off or whatever, maybe they'll start realizing that, holy shit, she's a zombie.
Spoiler :
After watching the ova, I'm guessing Furuya's zombie fetish (and maybe why others have taken Sanka's zombiism lightly) is from repressed memories of his mother. I'm actually more curious of what happened to her, and guessing that Sanka will suffer the same fate.

Nevermind, I forgot about the part where Furuya's got a zombie fascination before whatever happened to his mother. Or at least it seems like it. Kinda hard to tell between Furuya's and Mero's flashbacks.

In a way, I have to agree

I do love the show but I would have prefered if they had made it into an show about Rea secretly struggling not to eat Furuya. They did have a sceen that would open up this plot already.

That was... a bit anticlimatic? It was a bit of a downer, but there seems quite a bit of unanswered stuff.
Spoiler :
A zombie slice of life sounds interesting, though I'm more interested in what happened to Furuya's mom.

Yeah, exactly
Spoiler :
1stly, they ended it with an ending wide open... I mean like really wide
2ndly, I was too interested in his mom
3rdly, I didn't like the fact that Furuya was like poisoned by Rea for a short amount of time and then just returned to normal. This would be satisfying for me only if it turned out that Rea's not a zombie but something else..
4thly, I am not satisfied how they ended things with her father. After 16 years of his freaky behavior she just tells him that she doesn't like it and that's all it takes to make him into a good guy
I do say these thing but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the show... I might read the manga to see what happens next
