Yeah. Just like the title says. I would like help making a website for my editing studio. Since I am about to get some members I would really like a place for us o be able to congregate.
I'm also looking for a way to host videos on the site as well. I realize it will take money and I'm willing to pay anyone who is willing o help me set it up. I know nothing of HTML, and would really like my own website set up.
If anyone can help or can offer advice, please and thank you.

Depends on what you want, if you want cms i would suggest php fusion/or something like that which is rather noob friendly (i started from it as other stuff like joomla was confusing for me), and you can google around for solutions . Separate forum on phpbb2 (imo easier to manage/modify than phpbb3 but w/e) if you need such thing D: , as about servers look around, you might be interested in something without transfer limit cap D:.

Honestly, I would just use Blogger (formerly Blogspot, owned by Google now).
It's free. With clean customizable templates (if you want more of a website-feel than a blog). And there's way more features then you'll ever be able to implement in your own website (like tags, RSS, sharing features, comments on all pages... etc). Doing all that by yourself is way more hassle than it's worth, and the results probably won't be as good-- just ending in more headache. Hosting can be done via YouTube/Org/Mediafire or whatever... and it has a simple web interface to update your content too, without really needing to know what you are doing. Free blogs used to suck; but these days, it's tough to compete with all the pre-done professional stuff out there.
I would start by trying that and see if you like it. You can always get the ".blogspot.com" in your address removed afterwards.
Also, I think the idea of self-hosting is a bit passé, but that's just me.

Well, the way I see it, it's like a trade-off between effort vs results.I Fight For The Users wrote:Yeah, that data ownership thing is so 20th century.Phantasmagoriat wrote: Also, I think the idea of self-hosting is a bit passé, but that's just me.
Which would you rather have?
- A. A crappy website that you own completely or
B. A good website where you trust someone else to do the hosting
