Yeah same here. I remembered enetring a miscellaneous but didn't go to finals :?
I'm guessing this year's contest is more competitive than last year's, for whatever reason. One of my videos didn't make it either. :amv:

That's the one.

I'm glad somebody asked about this. :) Ours is an unusual approach that I don't know if any other contests use. It's an idea we'd had kicking around for a while, and talking about it last AWA to people with experience running contests helped to give us the confidence to implement it.

We did things differently this year. As explained in rule #12 ("Categories"), the prescreening judges rated the videos without regard to categorization. Videos in sparser genres didn't get any advantage, and videos in more crowded genres were at no disadvantage. Finalists were decided on the judges' scores alone. So if a video was rated well enough to be in the top hour-and-50-minutes (and not DQed), it made finals, period.

Only after the finalists were selected did we pick the seven categories, and I'm glad to report that we were able to place every video in one of the categories its creator indicated on his/her entry form. This is also why, unlike prior years, there's an imbalance in the sizes of each category: for example, we had a *lot* of actiony videos in the field of finalists.

hehe, here we go again, Meli

I wish they'd announce when the heck The Knights of Badassdom is going to premiere...the trailer came out in August and there's still no theater date, yet. For awhile I was worried my AMV would be way behind the game, but obviously that's not turning out to be an issue. :|

awww, I'm kind of disappointed. I was hoping my other video would make finals, but at least one of them did

Oh... I thought we were going to face each other again...

But ok. In the next contest we'll meet into the Drama category <3
