Which AMV contests are still taking submissions?

Post by tuxedomarty » Sun May 13, 2012 8:54 pm

I wanted to submit my Heero & Relena AMV with the Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway duet to AnimeNEXT, but thanks to a family member who kept causing me drama non stop and other crap going on in my life I got distracted and missed the submission deadline, and I feel this video is one of the best I've made so far and it deserves to be seen and has potential to be in AMV contests.
I can't stand weeaboos and people who keep badmouthing dubbed anime and say it sucks.

Okay, are there any ones where I don't have to export them from the editing software again just to make a version without title and credit bumpers? Because I don't want to have two versions of the same video only one has no title bumper or credits.

Most contests require your entry to NOT have titles, bumpers, credits, etc. check the contests's requirements for specifics and to make sure your video condoms to THEIR rules.

That's why I asked if there were ones where I DIDN'T have to remove them. If they have to remove them manually themselves, they can do as they must.

Then the contest you're looking for is San Japan. They want you to include the credits. Check the thread here in this section for 'San Japan 2012 AMV Contest'

I'll remove bumpers manually if I need to, but only if doing so doesn't mess with the video. For instance, if the music continues into the bumper, I would rather disqualify the video in its entirety than just cut it off when the video itself ends, making it seem like it ends abruptly. I feel that presenting a video in such a state is a disservice to the editor.

So, as long as there's a bit of black space between the bumper(s) & your actual video, I would be happy to accept it for my contest, if you'd like to submit.

I'll also remove the bumpers in the videos I get, unless (as kiarrens said) the titles and credits are a seamless part of the main video.

The Sangawa Project is a convention catering to those who are 18 and over, basically the "older" otaku generation. Because of this, our main contest has less restrictions on content than other conventions along with an older and more established base of AMV fans.

Here's our rules and instructions page, if you would like to submit to our contest: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 5&t=108930

:amv:

P.S. You can check the Org's convention calendar for all contests currently running (as long as the coordinators put their contests in it, of couse): http://www.animemusicvideos.org/help/calendar/

Easily qualifies for the "RETRO" Category, Kumoricon 2012

Post by Geirr » Sun Jun 10, 2012 1:38 pm

Hello:

The Kumoricon 2012 AMV contest deadline is 25-Jul-12.
We have a category called "RETRO," for which your music (1977)
and anime source (1997) easily qualify.

This category has no other stylistic constraints, so a drama/romance theme would be fine.
I will PM you for submission details,

- G

I have to ask why everyone is "feeding this guy" information, there are contest threads for a reason! If everyone on this forum started a thread "ask me to submit to your contest" then the forum would be a mess. Why is this guy more special than everyone else who actually spends the time to read threads posted for each contest (including the rules)?
