I don't know if I think the song is actually OK or if it seriously annoys me..

Anyhow, it's probably because I haven't seen the anime that I found this pretty confusing. You could have worked on the narrative a bit more. There did seem to be some kind of a structure to it, also nice details here and there, but it was hard to follow.

Another thing, which didn't quite feel satisfying was the inconsistency of sync. Sharp cuts can be done beautifully but my main problem here is that there didn't seem to be consistent pattern of what exactly did you sync to, that is, beats, lyrics, or something else?

Bottom line: I liked the concept (your focus on the negatives instead of the usual sweet shoujo) but the execution could have used some coherency. It feels a bit repetitive when you're editing but I'd nonetheless advice to find a couple of basic patterns to use as a basic structure throughout the whole amv.

I really loved this!

You got me as soon as I saw the name of the song and the anime. To be honest it got me even more curious to see how you would combine the two!
Story wise I loved it, it's awesome! The scenes you picked are perfect and they tell your story pretty well. To be honest, I don't think it was confusing at all. The real story is nothing like this and I love the anime, though even that didn't stood up on your story. I understood what you were trying to tell us.

I have to agree with Emong though, about the sync. I can't remember the name of the instrument played with this song in english, but with a song like this I think it would be best to go on with the lyrics and only some hard beats. Some hard cuts were ok, but others... I personally didn't like them much, because 1) there was nothing on the song to justify that and 2) some scenes lost their impact, like the one where she leaves the room.

Overall, I think you did well! I liked it. I wish people would edit more with this anime

Yeah, doing consistent sync is probably one of my weak points. I hear too many things in the song and I end up wanting to sync to them all. xD I'm definitely trying to work on that though.

Considering this cover sold 152,000 downloads in its first week, I'd say Gotye is a bit sore, and owes a portion of his sudden success to Glee.

it was a good idea, but i feel like you used all the right scenes just in the wrong places,the pace is too fast at some parts and too slow at the wrong parts. but overall it was okay

I think it was a great combination, and I loved the lighting/coloring within it. Made a good connection to the mood of the song. I felt like some of the hard cuts were a little too fast at times, BUT I loved the scene selection enough that this didn't bother me as much as it probably would have otherwise.

Overall, I enjoyed it and will likely be keeping this one for quite a while.

The video itself was quite nice, I guess. There was generally something a bit wrong with the sync but the main problem for me was music. Seriously, for a few months I've been hearing this song constantly everywhere and I'm totally sick of it, so that's probably why I couldn't enjoy the video much.

This song was probably the best single song created in the last year and even though I've heard it a million times I still love it to death.
So I was curious to see how you handled it. I figured it'd be quite hard to edit this song and while I think you managed to tell the story well by scene choice and order, the video did not move me at all like the song alone does. It didn't seem like you managed to capture the big emotion and mood at all.
