The Happy Thread

This is going to go in here, because, while normally it'd go in the vent thread, I'm happy with it. I've missed so many classes this semester thanks to headaches that I fell dramatically behind and was at risk of failing a lot of courses. I still may fail one, but the rest I'm passing, I just finished my math test and got enough to get me a 49.6 (which the college rounds up to 50), allowing me to pass math. After my 4.0 GPA last semester this is horrible, but I'll catch things back up next semester. At least I passed, despite these goddamn headaches. Now, ten minutes until my database test (doing so well in this course that even if I get 50 on this test I'll pass with flying colours).

Grabbed a new projector for my AMV room @ AAC. The store is out of Ohio, so I figured it'd arrive some time next week. I got the tracking info this morning, and apparently it shipped from MA and is already on the truck for delivery today. Slight drawback, though, in that it requires a signature and I'm at work. They won't hold it for pick-up until AFTER they try and fail to deliver it once, and I plan to be away most of the day tomorrow.

We're working that out with the city attorney's office (since it's a city-funded group). But it's illegal to drive with it as damaged as it was (besides the fact that I barely could see out of it), and I need a car.

I doubt that we'll get anything out of them though, and I almost feel guilty asking (since it's a charitable group, and it was an accident).

I hate hate haaaate house centipedes. They've tormented me since I got to Chicago. We had our computer desks by the wall where the outlet for the modem is, and I'm pretty sure they are living in the wall and coming out of that outlet because I would see 3-4 of them a night. I'd end up sitting crosslegged in my chair and constantly watching the floor and walls for them. They freak me right the fuck out. And because of the desks in the way, they were hard to kill. We'd reach to swat them and they'd fall behind our desks, and we wouldn't know where they went or if we killed them. It was not funtimes.

We moved our desks last night and this morning I see a house centipede in the usual spot. So I pointed it out to our cat, Charlemagne (who made weird clicking noises at it...), I knocked it down with a broom, and then he immediately killed it. Now he's watching the corner where they like to come out. Even when he's sleeping on a chair across the room, he keeps periodically looking up to scan the area. This pleases me.

I would just like to note that one of my cats did that, too, and only when he saw a bug. He would meow loudly and constantly all the time otherwise, but when he was trying to catch a fly or moth or something, he would make this bizarre clicking sound. Weird animals are weird.

And for my "good mood" thought today... ACen. I fucking needed that.

Actually, I liked that class a lot. Learned some practical writing skills that really destroyed what I previously thought was kosher writing.
