Help - Windows Live Movie Maker

Post by Reminiscable » Fri Mar 30, 2012 12:52 pm

So I just finished my first video editing project, and even though I used a .wav and highest resolution output, my exported video file is desynched and I cannot save as an AVI for Virtual Dub! How the heck do I mux my audio stream together if it only saves as .wmv?

Oh, and forget how every five minutes I need to download another program just to get the effect that I want, and that the output quality is abyssmal. Forget all that and tell me - how do I resync my audio??

Thank you.

VirtualDub: ASF files are not supported
Windows Live Movie Maker: AVI files are not supported

So for someone testing out Windows Live Movie Maker, how the heck do I sync my audio.

Will, for future reference, don't use Windows Live Movie Maker... it's awful. The older version was much better. There are better alternatives if you are willing to spend a couple $$ (Look into Magix or Adobe Premiere Elements). But the damage is done so...

What settings are you using to save the video?

It exports as a .wmv in 1080p. 24Mbps data rate, 29fps, 128kbps audio, and 48kHz sampling.

EDIT: Solved it using Microsoft Expression Encoder 4.

Why would you even want AVI unless using it as an intermediary format, it's such an ugly hack for most things… MKV your final product.
