The ending reminded me of a short story I read in high school called Paul's Case:

Yeah, i remember this, back when you first-uploaded it on Youtube (and i never got the chance to comment). Pretty nice project you made there folks, seems like a weird hybrid of The Artist and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo... with more clocks
